NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Nantucket, Mass. native\u00a0Tyler Roethke\u00a0<\/strong>has opted to stay in-state for his college career after verbally committing to Boston College as a member of the Eagles’ class of 2024.<\/p>\n

A talented freestyler, Roethke swims year-round with Nantucket Swimming and recently recorded a pair of best times at Geneva Futures this past summer after registering five top-20 finishes at New England LCM Seniors. Last winter, he won the 500 free at New England Age Groups before going on to finish fourth in the 200 free at Ithaca Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Nantucket High School, Roethke is a six-time Massachusetts DII State Championship finalist. He won the 200 free and 500 free and ahcnored the winning 4×100 free relay during his junior season. As a sophomore, he became the first state champion in Nantucket High School history after winning the 100 free.<\/p>\n
