NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>North Carolina native\u00a0Jared Carter\u00a0<\/strong>has verbally committed to West Virginia University and will arrive in Morgantown in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

A talented freestyler who gets faster as the distance gets longer, Carter swims year-round with the YMCA of the Triangle Area Swim Team and owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards. He capped off a stellar summer season with a gold medal in the 800m free and a silver medal in the 1500m free at both TYR Summer Seniors and Greensboro Sectionals. Last winter, he raced the mile at Juniors East and registered three top-25 finishes at YMCA SCY Nationals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Green Hope High School, Carter is a four-time North Carolina 4A State Championship finalist. He finished seventh in the 500 free and tenth in the 200 free as a junior after placing 15th in the former event during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n
