NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Bedford, Ind. native\u00a0Andrew Swenson\u00a0<\/strong>has given his in-state verbal commitment to Purdue University and will suit up for the Boilermakers as a member of the class of 2024.<\/p>\n

He will also join\u00a0Kevin O’Dare<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Coleman Modglin<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Griffin Seaver<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ethan Shaw<\/a> <\/strong>next fall in West Lafayette.<\/p>\n

Swenson, who owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 back, swims year-round with Lawrence County Aquatics and recently recorded four best times at Indiana LCM Seniors this past summer. He finished fifth in the 200 IM at Indiana Seniors in March before going on to place 18th in the 100m back at Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Bedford North Lawrence, Swenson has raced at the Indiana State Championships each of his three high school seasons thus far. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American finished ninth in the 100 back as a junior after racing to 16th in that event during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I feel extremely honored to have verbally committed to Purdue! I decided to commit to Purdue University Swimming for a couple of reasons. During my visit, everybody there was extremely friendly and welcoming, their engineering school was absolutely amazing, and I could tell the swimmers on the team had great friendships. I’m very excited to continue studying and swimming at Purdue. Boiler up!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
