NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. native\u00a0Nicole Gomez\u00a0<\/strong>has announced her verbal committment to Southern Methodist University. She’ll join\u00a0Jenna Watson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Maxine Parkinson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in the Mustangs’ class of 2024.<\/p>\n

Primarily a mid-distance freestyler, Gomez swims year-round with North Palm Beach Swim Club and owns three Summer Juniors standards. She recently placed eighth in the 400m free at Greensboro Futures this past summer after placing fourth in that event at Florida Gold Coast Seniors. She raced five events at Juniors East last winter and finished 23rd in the 200m free at 2018 Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Trinity Christian Academy, Gomez is a six-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. She was the runner-up in the 200\/500 free combo as a sophomore and junior after finishing sixth in those events during her rookie campaign.<\/p>\n

“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at SMU. SMU is a perfect blend of athletics and academics. The moment I stepped on campus I knew it was home! I can\u2019t wait to work with Coach Steve and Anna. A special thanks to my family, friends, and coaches for all the love and support along the way. I can\u2019t wait for 4 years as a mustang. PONY UP!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
