{"id":392964,"date":"2019-09-04T08:28:01","date_gmt":"2019-09-04T15:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=392964"},"modified":"2019-09-04T09:44:01","modified_gmt":"2019-09-04T16:44:01","slug":"caeleb-dressel-signs-as-international-swimming-league-ambassador","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-signs-as-international-swimming-league-ambassador\/","title":{"rendered":"Caeleb Dressel Signs as International Swimming League Ambassador"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>USA superstar <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> has become the latest big name to sign up for the upcoming International Swimming League competition.<\/p>\n<p>Dressel, who won a record eight medals at July\u2019s World Championships, joins<strong> Nathan Adrian, Cate Campbell, Katinka Hosszu, Katie Ledecky, Florent Manaudou, Ryan Murphy, Adam Peaty, Federica Pellegrini<\/strong> and<strong> Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> as an ISL ambassador ahead of next month\u2019s inaugural event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to be part of the ISL family,\u201d said the 23-year-old, who will swim for the Cali Condors. \u201cI can\u2019t wait for this new event to start in October in Indianapolis!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ISL founder <strong>Konstantin Grigorishin<\/strong> added: \u201cThe ISL family welcomes one of the world\u2019s most exciting swimmers. I am sure Caeleb Dressel will enjoy swimming in the League where he can showcase his ability within a unique International Team context, we are pleased to have him with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Around 75% of all current Olympic champions and world record holders will compete in swimming\u2019s first ever team-based League.<\/p>\n<p>The eight teams \u2013 Cali Condors, DC Trident, Aqua Centurions, Energy Standard, LA Current, NY Breakers, Iron and London Roar \u2013 will compete in an innovative format based on a regular season, which runs through October to December, across the USA and Europe.<\/p>\n<p>That season will begin in October with meets in Indianapolis before heading across the Atlantic Ocean to Naples, Italy.
