\/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Budapest, Day 3 Prelims<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The 2019 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships continued on Thursday morning in Budapest with a full slate of events as the top junior swimmers in the world vied for world titles.<\/p>\n<p>The session started with the women\u2019s 50 butterfly, followed by the men\u2019s 50 backstroke, the women\u2019s 100 breaststroke, the men\u2019s 50 free and the women\u2019s 200 back before moving to the 4&#215;100 mixed free relay.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fina.org\/event\/fina-world-junior-swimming-championships-2019\/results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">9 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships LIVE fly (25.87), <strong>Anastasiya Shkurdai<\/strong> of Belarus took the top seed during prelims, finishing in 26.20.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Claire Curzan<\/strong> of the U.S. took the second seed in 26.32, a tenth ahead of France\u2019s <strong>Naele Portecop<\/strong> (26.42).<\/p>\n<p>Another U.S. swimmer, followed as <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> touched the wall in 26.58. <strong>Miriam Sheehan<\/strong> followed in 26.82, while Ecuador\u2019s <strong>Anicka Delgado<\/strong> (27.00), and a pair of Italians \u2014 <strong>Costanza Cocconcelli<\/strong> (27.03) and in the 50 back, touching the wall in 25.32.<\/p>\n<p>Wyatt Davis of the U.S. was a mere three hundredths of a second behind in 25.35, while Italy\u2019s <strong>Thomas Ceccon<\/strong>, who had the top entry time of 25.16 took the third seed in 25.51.<\/p>\n<p>The top eight were separated by less than a half second as Russia\u2019s <strong>Nikolay Zuev<\/strong> took the fourth seed (25.53), followed by India\u2019s <strong>Srihari Nataraj<\/strong> (25.63) and Russia\u2019s <strong>Pavel Samusenko<\/strong> (25.73).<\/p>\n<p>Germany\u2019s <strong>Marvin Dahler<\/strong> (25.77) and der Merwe<\/strong> came into the session with the top entry time at 1:07.12 and was very near that pace with prelims swim of 1:07.50 to take the top seed.<\/p>\n<p>She was the only swimmer in the field to break 1:08.<\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s E<strong>vgeniia Chikunova<\/strong> took the second seed in 1:08.07, followed by compatriot <strong>Anastasia Makarova<\/strong>, who finished in 1:08.23.<\/p>\n<p>USA\u2019s<strong> Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> was next in 1:08.59, followed by Denmark\u2019s <strong>Thea Blomsterberg<\/strong> (1:09.05).<\/p>\n<p>Hungary\u2019s<strong> Eszter Bekesi<\/strong> (1:09.12), Canada\u2019s <strong>Avery Wiseman<\/strong> (1:09.14) and USA\u2019s <strong>Ellie Andrews<\/strong> (1:09.33) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" <strong>Artur Barseghyan<\/strong> (22.79).<\/p>\n<p>USA\u2019s <strong>Adam Chaney<\/strong> was the second American qualifier, touching the wall in 22.84, followed by Sweden\u2019s <strong>Robin to better her world junior record, also a world record.<\/p>\n<p>The prelims of the women\u2019s 200 back seemed much slower than Smith has made the world accustomed to, but for prelims, the event brought some solid times from athletes around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s <strong>Jade Hannah<\/strong> used a fast start, an opening split of 29.97, to take the top seed in 2:10.21.<\/p>\n<p>Austria&#8217;s <strong>Lena Grabowski<\/strong> took the second seed, nearly a second behind in 2:11.03, followed by USA\u2019s <strong>Natalie<\/strong> <strong>Mannion<\/strong> (2:11.56).<\/p>\n<p>Italy\u2019s <strong>Erika Gaetani<\/strong> took the fourth seed in2:1.67, just head of Hungary\u2019s <strong>Eszter Szabo-Feltothy<\/strong> (2:11.70) and Israel\u2019s <strong>Aviv Barzelay<\/strong> (2:11.91).<\/p>\n<p>Poland\u2019s <strong>Zuzanna Herasimowicz<\/strong> (2:12.41) and Austria\u2019s <strong>Tahlia Thornton<\/strong> (2:12.48) rounded out the top
