NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Hailing from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., breaststroker Malia Mills<\/strong> has verbally committed to the University of Hawaii, Manoa as their first member of the class of 2024.<\/p>\n

Mills, who swims year-round with Irvine Novaquatics, owns a pair of Summer Juniors standards and most recently raced two events at the MVN Summer Junior Olympics. Last winter, she competed in both events at Juniors West before going on to place eighth in the 100 breast at Carlsbad Speedo Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Tesoro High School, Mills is a six-time CIF Southern DI Section Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 breast as a junior after racing to second in both events during her sophomore season. The NISCA All-American also finished 13th in the 50 free at the CIF State Championships during her rookie campaign.<\/p>\n
