Prior to Juniors, he notched a best time in the 1500m free at Cleveland Speedo Sectionals before going on to earn silver in the 400m at Geneva Futures. Also competing for Coffman High School, Shaw placed ninth in the 500 free and 10th in the 200 free during his junior season at the Ohio State Championships.<\/p>\n<p>He told <em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #adad0c;\"><strong>&#8220;I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Purdue University! Thank you to my family, coaches and teammates for helping me get to where I am today. Boiler up!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:41.85<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:33.91<\/li>\n<li>1000 free &#8211; 9:42.29<\/li>\n<li>1650 free &#8211; 16:00.71<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 1:55.08<\/li>\n<li>400 IM &#8211; 4:02.97<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shaw has made major improvements over the past two seasons, dropping 14 seconds in the 200 free\/200 IM, 24 in the 500 free and 29 in the 400 IM.
