Rathbun will serve as an assistant coach for the 2019-20 season.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWe are thrilled to have Thomas Rathbun joining us this season,\u201d said Colella. \u201cHe has been here for a couple of months and has added to the ongoing endeavor we call recruiting, as well as a welcome addition on deck coaching. Thomas adds another dynamic to an already great staff.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rathbun spent the last year as an assistant men\u2019s swim coach with DePauw University.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to DePauw, Rathbun graduated from the University of Iowa, where he swam for four years. As a Hawkeye, Rathbun was a <a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2018-mens-big-ten-championships-full-ncaa-college-2018-02-21.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">finalist in the Big Ten Championships<\/a> and the U.S. Open. He finished his swimming career holding top-10 times in school history in three events: 800-yard freestyle relay, 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle.
