The University of Arizona Swimming and Diving program and head coach Augie Busch<\/strong> have announced the addition of new assistant coach Anna Heller<\/strong> to the staff.<\/p>\n

“The staff and I are so happy and excited about Anna joining our staff,” said Busch. “We see eye-to-eye on many things, most importantly how best to create great connections with young student-athletes. She is very highly regarded in the swim community, which will help us continue to cultivate great relationships with club coaches and swimmers around the country. I could not feel better about the staff we have out together this summer and cannot wait to get the season started.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Heller comes to Arizona after two seasons as an assistant coach for the SMU women’s swimming program<\/a>, where she helped mentor four athletes to NCAA Championship appearances over two seasons and the 2019 American Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Performer Erin Trahan.<\/p>\n

“I am very excited to be joining the Arizona coaching staff, I know great things are happening here and I am looking forward to being a part of the culture the team has been creating,” said Anna Heller. “I would like to thank the Arizona coaching staff and athletic department for this opportunity. Bear Down!”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Prior to SMU, Heller was an assistant coach on the Texas A&M women’s staff, where she helped lead the Aggies to their highest ever NCAA finish (3rd) and an SEC Championship.<\/p>\n

Heller also has extensive experience at the club level, coaching at the Aggie Swim Club (College Station, Texas) and Hillsboro Heat (Hillsboro, Ore.). Heller also served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Portland, where she led the strength and conditioning and nutrition efforts of the women’s basketball and tennis programs.<\/p>\n

Heller swam collegiately at Texas A&M where she helped lead the Aggies to a Big 12 Championship in 2012 and had top-10 times in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes. She transferred to Texas A&M from Oregon State, where she qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2010.<\/p>\n

In 2012, Anna Heller qualified for the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, and, in 2015, she qualified for USA Swimming Nationals.<\/p>\n
