I was actually in a daze when I touched the wall, so I didn\u2019t notice. The announcer said &#8216;Devon Nowicki,&#8217; and that is when I reacted,\u201d Nowicki said. \u201cThen I saw my time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nowicki won the race in 59.69 to hold off <strong>Craig Benson<\/strong> (59.79) and<strong> Reece Whitley<\/strong> (1:00.05).<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Devon Nowicki Talks About Winning First National Title\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7lnq5FeMpPY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt feels good. Being with all of these guys is really cool. National teamers know who you are, and that is really cool. Being in this group is what I shot for my whole career. To be a part of it last year, but solidify it this year feels really good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, Nowicki has some momentum heading into the Olympic year with big goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Andrew Wilson<\/strong>\u2019s 58.9 is kind of nuts right now, but that is the goal,\u201d Nowicki said. \u201cI can\u2019t wait for next season.
