The fifth and final morning of the 2019 Phillips 66 US National Championships features the final six events as swimmers will fight to make the finals on the final night of competition at Stanford.<\/p>\n

Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> was not\u00a0 swimming the 50 free, but there are plenty of great swimmers still aiming for national titles, including Ryan Lochte,<\/strong> who took the top seed in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n

Madisyn Cox<\/strong> took the top seed in the women’s 200 IM and is looking to add another title.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s 800 and women\u2019s 1500 will follow in the afternoon with the slower heats building up to the fast heats in finals.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/h2>\n

Madisyn Cox<\/strong> predictably took the top seed in the 200 IM, her best event. She used a 30.68 final 50 split to finish more than a second ahead of the field.<\/p>\n

Julia Poole<\/strong> was the next closest, finishing with the second-fastest time of 2:13.02.<\/p>\n

Australia\u2019s Calypso Sheridan<\/strong>, who swims for Northwestern, took the third seed in 2:14.00, followed by Scotland\u2019s Hannah Miley<\/strong> in 2:14.04.<\/p>\n

Florida\u2019s Vanessa Pearl<\/strong> took the fifth spot in 2:14.44, followed by Emma Barksdale<\/strong> (2:14.65), Justina Kozan<\/strong> (2:14.90) and Evie Pfeifer<\/strong> (2:15.04).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 IM<\/h2>\n

Ryan Lochte<\/strong> swam a strong IM during time trials early in the meet, and that momentum continued as he took the top seed in the event on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Lochte, who holds the world record in the event at 1:54.00, swam the race in 1:58.77, dropping 0.14 seconds from his entry time to earn the top seed in tonight\u2019s final.<\/p>\n

John Shebat<\/strong> took the second seed in 1:59.97, followed by Mason Rays\u2019 Jake Foster<\/strong> with the third spot in 2:00.30.<\/p>\n

Grant Sanders<\/strong> was just behind Foster with a 2:00.31, followed by last night\u2019s 100 back champion Shaine<\/strong> Casas<\/strong> of Aggie Swim Club with a 2:00.40.<\/p>\n

Kieran Smith<\/strong> took the sixth spot in 2:00.68, followed by Michigan\u2019s Tommy Cope<\/strong> (2:00.69) and rounding out the top eight was Matt Willenbring<\/strong> (2:00.88).<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Free<\/h2>\n

France\u2019s Anna Santamans<\/strong> took the top seed in the 50 free, finishing in 24.88.<\/p>\n

Tennessee\u2019s Erika Brown<\/strong> took the second spot in 25.10, followed by Athens Bulldogs\u2019 Natalie Hinds<\/strong> (25.15).<\/p>\n

Sixteen-year-old Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 25.17, followed by recent Michigan graduate Catie<\/strong> DeLoof<\/strong> (25.29).<\/p>\n

Grace Cooper<\/strong> took the sixth seed (25.33), while the top eight was rounded out by Maxine Parker<\/strong> (25.39) and Aly Tetzloff<\/strong> (25.49).<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Free<\/h2>\n

New York Athletic Club\u2019s Ryan Held<\/strong> took the top seed in the 50 free, finishing in 21.88 to hold off the rest of the field.<\/p>\n

BYU\u2019s Payton Sorenson<\/strong> took the second seed in 22.23, followed by recent Alabama graduate Robert Howard<\/strong> (22.25).<\/p>\n

Bowe Becker<\/strong> was fourth in 22.36, followed by Scotland\u2019s Jack Thorpe<\/strong> (22.37) and David Curtiss<\/strong> (22.37) \u2014\u00a0who tied for the fifth seed.<\/p>\n

Erik Risovato<\/strong> took the seventh spot in 22.42, followed by Michigan\u2019s Gus Borges<\/strong> (22.44).<\/p>\n
