The 2019 Futures Championships at Mt. Hood, Oregon, continued with its third day of competition. This meet is being held at Mt. Hood Aquatic Center from August 1-4.<\/p>\n

Several swimmers won their second titles of the meet including Kathryn Krolikowski<\/strong> (400 IM, 200 fly), Donna Depolo<\/strong> (100 breast, 200 breast), Patrick Park<\/strong> (100 fly, 50 free) and Parker Reynolds<\/strong> (1500 free, 400 free). Many other swimmers picked up podium finishes to match their haul from earlier in the meet.<\/p>\n

The events contested include 200 fly, 50 free, 200 breast, 100 back and 400 free.<\/p>\n

Dart Swimming leads on the men’s side while Tualatin Hills leads on the women’s side. The overall team scores at the end of the third night of finals are as follows:<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Fly<\/h3>\n

    Kathryn Krolikowski<\/strong> of Aquazot picked up her second title of the meet after winning the 400 IM yesterday. She was almost two seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, winning in a time of 2:15.26. College Area Swim Team’s Sarah Nowaski<\/strong> took second place clocking in at 2:17.01, while La Mirada Armada’s Maelynn Lawrence<\/strong> finished third (2:17.05).<\/p>\n

    Dart’s Sanne Dequine<\/strong> took fourth place (2:18.57), followed by Mighty Marlin’s Karlie Rimat<\/strong> (2:18.83) and Bend’s Anneliese Husaby<\/strong> (2:18.90). Seattle Metropolitan’s Jaime Chen<\/strong> (2:20.38) and College Area Swim Team’s Danielle Nowaski<\/strong> (2:21.35) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n

    Men’s 200 Fly<\/h3>\n

    15-year-old Tate Cutler <\/strong>of Dart Swimming took home the gold in a time of 2:02.62. University Place’s Patrick Keogh<\/strong> took the silver with a time of 2:03.36, while North Bay Aquatics’ Gabriel Giacoppo<\/strong> won the battle for bronze (2:03.36).<\/p>\n

    Tualatin Hill’s Samuel Donchi<\/strong> finished fourth in a time of 2:05.68, while teammate Diego Nosack\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth (2:05.70) and Bay’s Ian Carsten<\/strong> nabbed sixth place (2:05.94). Unattached\u00a0Bertrand Phung\u00a0<\/strong>(2:06.32) and Tri-city Channel’s Skyler Younkin <\/strong>(2:09.70) rounded out the championship final.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 50 Free<\/h3>\n

    This was a close and tight finish as all eight finalists finished within half a second of the gold medalist. Chloe Larson<\/strong> of Cougar Aquatics emerged victorious in a time of 26.09. In second place was Katrina Mortenson<\/strong> of Alpha Aquatics with a time of 26.22, while Isabelle Henig<\/strong> of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics finished third (26.26).<\/p>\n

    Bainbridge’s Eleanor Beers<\/strong>, who won the 100 fly yesterday, finished fourth clocking in at 26.27. Palo Alto Stanford’s Sloane Reinstein<\/strong> grabbed fifth place (26.46), while Tualatin Hill’s Elizabeth Cook<\/strong> finished sixth (26.51). North Bay Aquatics’ Collete Berkenfield<\/strong> (26.55) and unattached Mia Facey<\/strong> (26.62) closed out the championship final.<\/p>\n

    Men’s 50 Free<\/h3>\n

    Fast’s Patrick Park\u00a0<\/strong>won his second title of the meet after winning the 100 fly yesterday, winning in a time of 23.02. Reece Gemmens<\/strong> took home the silver clocking in at 23.43, followed by Ccat’s Zachary Van Zandt<\/strong> (23.57) and unattached Dawson Sloan<\/strong> (23.61).<\/p>\n

    CAT’s Casey McEuen<\/strong> took fifth place in a time of 23.66, while North Coast Aquatics’ Mateo Parker<\/strong> came sixth (23.70). Neirton Oliveira<\/strong> of Lake Oswego took seventh place (23.92) while Patrick Sammon<\/strong> finished eighth (24.07).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n

    University of Nevada’s Donna Depolo<\/strong> swept the breaststroke events, clocking a time of 2:33.53 to take home the title. Natalie Bercutt\u00a0<\/strong>touched the wall at 2:34.69, to add to her silver from the 100 breast. In third place was Tualatin Hill’s Jessica Maeda<\/strong> (2:37.57), while Pro’s Catherine Yu\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth (2:38.48).<\/p>\n

    North Bay Aquatics’ Halle Morris<\/strong> finished fifth (2:38.92), followed by Canyon’s Ana Adame<\/strong> (2:40.33), Irvine Novaquatic’s Emma Wilmer<\/strong> (2:41.36) and UCD’s Victoria Kaleta<\/strong> (2:44.66).<\/p>\n

    Men’s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n

    John Neton<\/strong> of Seattle University touched the wall at 2:19.61 to win comfortably. Justin Lum<\/strong> of Buenaventura finished second at 2:22.16, while Nathaniel Parsons<\/strong> of North Coast Aquatics finished third at 2:23.45.<\/p>\n

    Palo Alto Stanford’s Shogo Moridaira<\/strong> took home fourth-place honors (2:24.09), while Dart’s Tom Higdon<\/strong> finished fifth (2:24.48) and Quicksilver’s Erik Seljeseth<\/strong> finished sixth (2:24.52). Peak’s Matthew Choi<\/strong> (2:24.91) finished seventh while Lucas Walker<\/strong> got disqualified.<\/p>\n

    Women’s 100 Back<\/h3>\n

    Emma Lepisova<\/strong> of Bay took home the title, winning in a time of 1:04.09. Macky Hodges<\/strong> of Gators Swim Club took runner-up honors with a time of 1:04.51. Multnomah’s Isabella Wallace<\/strong> finished third at 1:04.69, while Eva Suggs<\/strong> of Boise YMCA took fourth place at 1:04.81.<\/p>\n

    Noelle Harvey<\/strong> of North Coast Aquatics finished fifth (1:04.86), while Novaquatics’ Mia Ristic<\/strong> (1:05.50) and Alanakeahola Barthel<\/strong> (1:05.56) took sixth and seventh place respectively. Lindsey Soule<\/strong> of Corvallis Aquatic Team (1:06.22) rounded out the championship final.<\/p>\n

    Men’s 100 Back<\/h3>\n

    Riverside’s Joshua Hanson<\/strong> came first in a time of 58.29. John Donovan<\/strong> of Wolverine Aquatics finished second in a time of 58.52, followed by Lake Oswego’s Curtis Klein<\/strong> (58.86), Superior Stingray’s Marcus Gentry<\/strong> (59.16) and Lake Oswego’s Neirton Oliveira<\/strong> (59.18).<\/p>\n

    Maxwell Woodbury<\/strong> of Hillsboro Swim Team nabbed sixth place swimming a time of 59.31, while Seattle Metropolitan’s Kevin Kyi<\/strong> took seventh (59.34) and Rancho San Dieguito’s Jacque Wenger<\/strong> finished eighth (59.44).<\/p>\n

    Women’s 400 Free<\/h3>\n

    La Mirada Armada’s Courtney Tseng<\/strong> won the gold in a time of 4:21.17. Ryan Falk<\/strong> of Tualatin Hills finished second clocking in at 4:21.97. La Mirada Armada’s Cathryn Salladin<\/strong> took third place in a time of 4:24.57, while College Area’s Sarah Nowaski<\/strong> finished fourth (4:25.97).<\/p>\n

    Canyon’s Eleanor Horst<\/strong> grabbed fifth place (4:25.32), followed by North Coast Aquatics’ Sydney Jackson<\/strong> (4:26.57), Bend’s Emma Brady<\/strong> (4:26.86) and Palo Alto Stanford’s Sloane Reinstein<\/strong> (4:30.00).<\/p>\n

    Men’s 400 Free<\/h3>\n

    Parker Reynolds\u00a0<\/strong>of Santa Maria Swim Club won his second title of the meet after winning the 1500 on the first day. He touched the wall at 3:58.15, and was the only person to break 4 minutes. In second place was Jacob Sauter<\/strong> of Pacific Swim clocking in at 4:00.46, while Simon Lamar<\/strong> of Fast finished third with a time of 4:01.51.<\/p>\n

    Tualatin Hill’s Trenton Martinez<\/strong> came fourth (4:01.72), while Santa Maria’s Blake Simpson<\/strong> took fifth (4:02.85). Lakeridge’s Christopher Miller<\/strong> (4:03.03) came sixth, while Dart teammates Hayden Johnson<\/strong> (4:03.98) and Eric Fierro<\/strong> (4:06.11) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n

    The 2019 Futures Championships Mt. Hood concludes tomorrow with events including the 100 free, 200 back, 200 IM, 400 medley relay, women’s 1500 free and men’s 800 free. Prelims begin at 9am PDT, while finals begin at 5pm PDT.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
