15-year-old Torri Huske <\/strong>continued her strong 2019 as she lowered the national age group record in the 100 fly on Friday night at the Phillips 66 USA Swimming Nationals in Palo Alto, California. Huske swam a 57.80 to take fourth place and also lowered the NAG record of\u00a0Mary T. Meagher<\/strong> that had been on the books since 1981. Mary T’s record was a 57.93.<\/p>\n

This is a huge milestone for Huske, who also broke the National High School record<\/a> in the 100 fly in short course yards earlier this year. Huske was a 57.98 this morning to just miss Mary T’s record, who is often regarded as the greatest butterfly swimmer ever. That 57.93 was the world record until 1999 and had stood as the 15-16 NAG record until today.<\/p>\n

She was recently announced as Swimming World’s\u00a0<\/em>High School Swimmer of the Year<\/a> and graced the cover of the August issue.<\/p>\n

Also in that A-Final was 15-year-old\u00a0Claire Curzan<\/strong>, who also moved past Mary T on the all-time list. Curzan finished fifth in the 100 fly final at 57.87. The A-Final was a historic final for 15-16 girls as\u00a0Lillie Nordmann<\/strong> placed sixth in the heat and also moved up to fourth on the all-time list at 57.96.<\/p>\n
