Megan Kingsley<\/strong> pulled out of the 100 butterfly at the 2019 Phillips 66 US National Championships on Friday, citing illness.<\/p>\n

“After consulting with my coaches and the physician on call, I pulled out of the 100 fly due to sever dehydration and a viral infection, but will hopefully be able to finish the meet later on,” Kingsley told Swimming World<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kingsley was slated to do a double on Friday. She swam the prelims of the 400 IM and did not make it back<\/a> to finals.<\/p>\n

After swimming all best times at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Richmond, Kingsley exited a store and while she was crossing at the crosswalk to the parking lot, was struck by a car and knocked to the ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cI immediately thought my swimming was done,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went all best times at Richmond. It has been six years since I went that fast in the IM,\u201d she said. “For me, it is proving how far I can go until 2020,\u201d Megan Kingsley said after the crash.<\/p>\n

Kingsley swam a 4:48.87 in the 400 IM, a 59.82 in the 100 fly, a 2:10.25 in the 200 fly and a 27.65 in the 50 fly in Richmond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
