This is one out of the four Futures meets across the country, with other locations including Mt. Hood, Oregon; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2019-futures-championships-geneva-future-gator-tylor-mathieu-sweeps-800-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geneva, Ohio<\/a>; and Des Moines, Iowa. Competition will take place at the Greensboro Aquatic Center from August 1-4. The distance session kicked things off for the meet, with events including the women\u2019s 800 free, men\u2019s 1500 free, and the men\u2019s\/women\u2019s 800 free relay. Fast Lane Aquatics\u2019 <\/span><b>Madison Murtagh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, unattached <\/span><b>Lance Norris<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>Sarasota Sharks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the <\/span><b>Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">claimed some of the very first victories of the meet on night one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Women 800 Free<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Claiming victory in the very first event of the meet was Fast Lane Aquatics\u2019 <\/span><b>Madison Murtagh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Dropping over twelve seconds, Murtagh clocked in at an 8:55.06. Right behind her was Area Tallahassee\u2019s sixteen-year-old <\/span><b>Stella Grace Watts, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">finishing with an 8:55.86. Third place went to thirteen-year-old <\/span><b>Addison Suickle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Sarasota, with an 8:56.73.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rounding out the top eight was Blue Dolfins\u2019 <\/span><b>Carlie Rose<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (8:58.73), Marlins of Raleigh\u2019s <\/span><b>Adrianna Cera <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(8:59.76), Treasure Coast Aquatics\u2019 <\/span><b>Blair Stoneburg<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (9:02.75), Atomic City Aquatic Club\u2019s <\/span><b>Emily Aycock <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(9:05.09), and Tac Titans\u2019 <\/span><b>Keelan Cotter <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(9:05.44).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Men 1500 Free<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The longest distance event of the meet had some of the youngest podium winners; all top three finishers in the men\u2019s 1500 free were sixteen years old or younger. Touching the wall first was sixteen-year-old <\/span><b>Lance Norris <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(unattached) with a time of 15:45.60 &#8211; over an eleven second drop. Fellow sixteen-year old <\/span><b>Grant Davis <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club placed second with a 15:47.81. City of Mobile Swim Association\u2019s fifteen-year-old <\/span><b>Andrew Jordan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> finished third in a 15:52.72.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Cale Russell<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, unattached, (15:53.75), Central Florida Marlins\u2019 <\/span><b>Noah Smith <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(16:02.95), Performance Elite Aquatics\u2019 <\/span><b>Landon Peeples<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (16:03.53), Marlins of Raleigh\u2019s <\/span><b>Joshua Legge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (16:08.01), and Central Florida Marlins\u2019 <\/span><b>Riley Sampson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(16:10.56) completed the men\u2019s top eight in the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Women 800 Free Relay\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first relay event of the meet, the Sarasota Sharks quartet of <\/span><b>Christina Cianciolo, Addison Sauickie, Savannah Barr,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> Mercedes Traba<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> won the gold with a time of 8:28.63, tying their seed exactly. In second place was Blue Dolfins\u2019 <\/span><b>Lockett Bowley, Julia Mauter, Kaylin Herbert, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> Carlie Rose<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with an 8:29.45. Third place went to Tac Titans\u2019 <\/span><b>Sydney Morgan, Elena Dry, Taylor Morris, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> Keelan Cotter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a 8:31.98.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dynamo Swim Club (8:32.38), Laker Swim (8:36.26), Blue Dolfins (B) (8:37.11), Marlins of Raleigh (8:39.55), and Swac Swim Team (8:40.77) rounded out the top eight women\u2019s relays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Men 800 Free Relay<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team\u2019s <\/span><b>Rene Strezenicky Franko, Ian Brann, Jason Brzozowski, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> Dimiter Zafirov <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">touched the wall first in the final event of the night with a 7:43.72. The quartet\u2019s almost three-second drop had them sweeping the next closest team in the field by three seconds. Coming in second place was Tac Titans\u2019 <\/span><b>Michael Cotter, Jack Benton, Mitchell Stroud, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><b> Braeden Haughey <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in a 7:46.16. Right behind them in third place was Marlins of Raleigh\u2019s <\/span><b>Samuel Roche, Joshua Legge, Sean Quinn, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Connor Dalbo <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with a 7:46.96<\/span><b>.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completing the top eight men\u2019s relays was Tampa Bay Aquatic Club (7:50.25), Academy Aquatic Club (7:51.41), Sarasota Sharks (7:55.66), Avon Community Swim Team (7:56.19), Episcopal Amberjax (7:57.18).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Competition will continue tomorrow with the 200 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, 400 IM, and 400 free relay.
