Hood, Oregon saw competition in the 200 free, 100 breast, 100 fly, 400 IM and 400 free relay.\u00a0This meet is taking place at the Mt. Hood Aquatic Center from August 1-4.<\/p>\n<p>Tonights events saw two tied finishes with many swimmers collecting their first title of the meet. Tualatin Hills Swim Club is comfortably atop the team score chart, with a lead of more than 200 points.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the coverage from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/2019-futures-championships-mt-hood-day-1-salladin-reynolds-win-distance-events\/\">Day 1<\/a>. Hood.<\/p>\n<h3>Team Scores<\/h3>\n<p>At the end of the second night of finals, Tualatin Hills Swim Club leads on both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s side. The top overall team scores are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tualatin Hills Swim Club (399)<\/li>\n<li>Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (167)<\/li>\n<li>Dart Swimming (166.5)<\/li>\n<li>North Bay Aquatics (165)<\/li>\n<li>Irvine Novaquatics (143.5)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Lily Gardner<\/strong> of Tualatin Hills took home the first victory of the day in a time of 2:03.24, dropping almost a second and a half from the prelims. In second place was Aquazot&#8217;s <strong>Kathryn Krolikowski\u00a0<\/strong>clocking in at 2:03.75 while Tualatin Hills&#8217; <strong>Elizabeth Cook<\/strong> was close behind (2:04.00) to take third place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taylor Kabacy\u00a0<\/strong>of Seattle Metropolitan was 0.08 behind to take fourth place (2:04.08), while Tualatin Hills&#8217; <strong>Ryan Falk\u00a0<\/strong>nabbed fifth place (2:04.86). <strong>Eva Suggs<\/strong> of Boise YMCA finished sixth in a time of 2:05.02, followed by La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>Courtney Tseng\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.66) and Mission Viejo Nadadore&#8217;s <strong>Natalie Oien<\/strong> (2:07.84).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>17-year-old <strong>Zachary Van Zandt <\/strong>of Ccat Swimming won the gold in a time of 1:51.72, winning by over a second. <strong>Daniel Ilin<\/strong> of Wolverine Aquatics finished in second place with a time of 1:52.99, while Tualatin Hills&#8217; <strong>Trenton Martinez<\/strong> finished third (1:53.52).<\/p>\n<p>In fourth place was Lakeridge&#8217;s <strong>Christopher Miller\u00a0<\/strong>clocking in at 1:54.43, while Tualatin Hill&#8217;s <strong>Samuel Donchi\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth (1:54.97) and Pacific Swim&#8217;s <strong>Jacob Sauter\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth (1:55.41). Lakeridge&#8217;s <strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong> (1:55.70) and Dart Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Eric Fierro\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.54) rounded out the championship final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>University of Nevada&#8217;s <strong>Donna Depolo\u00a0<\/strong>took home the title with a time of 1:10.56. 16-year-old <strong>Natalie Bercutt\u00a0<\/strong>of UCD Aquamonsters took runner-up honors with a time of 1:11.01 while <strong>Ana Adame<\/strong> of Canyons Aquatic Club finished third (1:11.55).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Halle Morris<\/strong> of North Bay Aquatics won the battle for fourth place with a time of 1:12.96, to narrowly beat out Voltage Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Andrea Perttula\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.01),\u00a0 Lakeridge&#8217;s <strong>Madeline Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.07), and Burlingame Aquatic Club&#8217;s <strong>Larisa Tam<\/strong> (1:13.10). UCD&#8217;s <strong>Victoria Kaleta<\/strong> (1:13.81) also swam in the championship final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Dart Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Tom Higdon<\/strong> won the gold clocking in at 1:04.17, to win a close race in which the top five were separated by a second. <strong>Justin Lum<\/strong> of Buenaventura Swim Club came in second with a time of 1:04.47, while <strong>Jackson Mason<\/strong> of North Bay Aquatics finished third (1:04.58).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parker Greene\u00a0<\/strong>of Capital Swimming finished fourth with a time of 1:04.95, while Pacific Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Noah Snyder<\/strong> (1:05.40) and Socal Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Anthony Fitzgerald<\/strong> (1:05.64) nabbed fifth and sixth place respectively. Dart&#8217;s <strong>Tommaso Townsend\u00a0<\/strong>came seventh (1:05.72) and Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Lucas Walker\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.48) came eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Eleanor Beers<\/strong> of Bainbrigdge Island Swim Club won a tightly contested race in a time of 1:01.86, dropping almost a second from her morning swim. Tualatin Hill&#8217;s <strong>Elizabeth Cook\u00a0<\/strong>took silver with a time of 1:01.94, while Dart&#8217;s <strong>Sanne Dequine<\/strong> clocked in at 1:02.60 for bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Bainbrigde&#8217;s <strong>Margaret Hayes<\/strong>\u00a0took fourth place (1:02.67) with Tualatin Hill&#8217;s <strong>Lily Gardner<\/strong> finishing fifth (1:03.14). Bend&#8217;s <strong>Anneliese Husaby<\/strong> finished a joint sixth (1:03.53) touching the wall at the same time as Irvine Novaquatics&#8217; <strong>Mia Ristic<\/strong>. All of the swimmers in this final were under 18.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Patrick Park<\/strong> swimming for Fast Swim Team was the only swimmer under 55 today as he took home the win in a time of 54.88. <strong>Patrick Keough<\/strong> of University Place Aquatic Club finished second (55.08) and Ccat&#8217;s <strong>Zachary Van Zandt,<\/strong> who won the 200 free earlier today, finished third (55.15).<\/p>\n<p>In fourth place was Lake Oswego&#8217;s <strong>Neirton Oliveria\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 55.96, while Tri-city Channel&#8217;s <strong>Skyler Younkin<\/strong> grabbed fifth place (56.22). Bay&#8217;s <strong>Ian Carsten<\/strong> and Canyon Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Kevin Childs<\/strong> took joint sixth (56.57). Rancho San Dieguito&#8217;s <strong>Mason Morris<\/strong> (56.73) rounded out the championship final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Aquazot&#8217;s <strong>Kathryn Krolikowski<\/strong> added to her earlier podium finish with a time of 4:54.36. Finishing second was unattached <strong>Ella Kirschke<\/strong> (4:57.35) while unattached <strong>Delaney Smith\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (4:59.80) to also get under the 5 minute mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emma Matous<\/strong> of Tualatin Hills took fourth in a time of 5:01.35, while La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>Maelynn Lawrence<\/strong> finished fifth (5:02.62). Seattle Metropolitan&#8217;s <strong>Maisy Barbosa<\/strong> (5:03.34), North Coast&#8217;s <strong>Sophia Ryan<\/strong> (5:08.66) and Tualatin Hills&#8217; <strong>Katherine Adams<\/strong> (5:18.68) also swam in the championship final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Mission Viejo Nadadore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Davis Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>emerged victorious in a time of 4:29.84. Tualatin Hill&#8217;s <strong>Marco Nosack<\/strong> dropped over four seconds to take home the silver (4:31.31) while Bend&#8217;s <strong>Brenden Reeves<\/strong> took the bronze (4:35.07).<\/p>\n<p>Unattached <strong>Connor Rodgers\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth (4:35.12), followed by Mt. Hood Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Owen Ngan\u00a0<\/strong>(4:36.03), Tualatin Hill&#8217;s <strong>Diego Nosack\u00a0<\/strong>(4:36.32), Wave Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Alexandru Omusoru<\/strong> (4:40.94) and Quicksilver Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Mason Carlton\u00a0<\/strong>(4:42.57).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Tualatin Hills Swim Club&#8217;s team of <strong>Elizabeth Cook<\/strong>, <strong>Jessica Maeda<\/strong>, <strong>Tia Lindsay<\/strong> and <strong>Lily Gardner<\/strong> took home the title in a time of 3:53.11. The team from North Bay Aquatics (3:54.32) finished second, while Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (3:55.08) took third place.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free Relay<\/h3>\n<p>The quartet from North Bay Aquatics comprising of <strong>Jackson Mason<\/strong>, <strong>Gabriel Giascoppo<\/strong>, <strong>Justin Wong<\/strong> and <strong>Max Sternberg\u00a0<\/strong>emerged victorious with a time of 3:30.57. In second place was the team from De Anza Cupertino Aquatics (3:31.65), while the team from Tualatin Hills Swim Club (3:32.57) finished third.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 Futures Championships Mt. Hood continues tomorrow with the 200 fly, 50 free, 200 breast, 100 back and 400 free.
