LOS ANGELES, June 13. FOR those of you in the L.A. area who have been hiding away this summer, waiting for the perfect time to go out and take in a water polo game, we have some good news and some bad news.<\/p>\n
The good news is that you'll finally be able to creep out to catch some of the best water polo in Southern California this year on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The bad news is that there are two games to choose from!<\/p>\n
US Women Take on Italy<\/b><\/p>\n
This Saturday at 6:00 p.m., the USA women's team takes on 2001 World Champion Italy in the second game of a two-game exhibition series at the USA Water Polo National Training Center in Los Alamitos. The U.S. women toppled the Italians, 10-8, in the first game on Thursday, and will be going for the clean sweep before the home crowd on the Joint Forces Training Base in a twilight contest. Admission is $5 to adults, and free to the 12-unders.<\/p>\n
US Men Meet World All-Stars<\/b>
\nDown in South County, the U.S. men will be taking on the World All-Stars in another exhibition at El Toro High School. The U.S. only has six games remaining against this handpicked group of international superstars, so you won't want to miss out. Opening sprint will be at 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
Women's Holiday Cup on July 4th Weekend<\/b><\/p>\n
One of the country's best tickets for water polo is heading to the Bay Area. The women's Holiday Cup, which will welcome four of the world's best teams, will take place from July 4-7 at Stanford University in Palo Alto.<\/p>\n
The U.S. will host Japan, Brazil, and Canada in the three-day affair over Independence Day weekend. The tournament, which has historically been held at the USA Water Polo National Training Center in Los Alamitos (Calif.), has moved north to Stanford,the home of this year's women's NCAA Champions.<\/p>\n
