Swimming World’s Male High School Co-Swimmers of the Year: <\/span>
\nCarson Foster & Luca Urlando<\/span><\/h2>\n

In August 2018, Carson Foster and Luca Urlando returned from representing the United States at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Fiji. As the two teenagers began their respective junior years of high school, both had just captured their first international gold medals, giving them a taste of international success that left them hungry for more.<\/p>\n

The next stops on their swimming journeys brought both of them to their junior year of high school racing\u2014Foster at Sycamore High School in Montgomery, Ohio (a suburb northeast of Cincinnati), and Urlando at C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, Calif. Foster ended up breaking a national record and posting the top time in the country in two events, while Urlando recorded a public school national record and one of the top times in the country in three events.<\/p>\n

And for those efforts, both Foster and Urlando earn the honor of Swimming World\u2019s Male High School Co-Swimmers of the Year.<\/p>\n

“USA Swimming National Junior Team Director Mitch Dalton told us, \u2018Look around this room. Someone here is going to be an Olympian, and it could be you. That stuck with me. People who I competed with on that team (2017 World Junior Championships) are going to be Olympians. Why can\u2019t I be an Olympian? Ever since I was 15, that\u2019s kind of been my dream…. I\u2019m putting everything I can into swimming, and that\u2019s something I want to accomplish.\u201d \u2014Carson Foster<\/span><\/p>\n
