And she still has two more years remaining of high school!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When Torri started competitive swimming, she was so small, she had to wear a wetsuit just to keep herself warm in the water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Eight years later, she is still lean, but has developed strength to go with her outstanding speed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cIt has been pretty crazy in all honesty,\u201d admits Evan Stiles, Huske\u2019s Arlington Aquatic Club coach. \u201cShe has been with our team for eight years or so\u2014ever since she started year-round swimming. Yes, she used to be that kid where the water was so cold and she had to wear like wetsuit material to keep warm. She just progressed from there.\u201d<br \/>\nOnly a sophomore at Yorktown High School in Arlington, Va., Torri Huske\u2019s speed went from progression to explosion this year\u2014so much so that she was named Swimming World\u2019s Female High School Swimmer of the Year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">CLIMBING TO THE TOP<\/span><br \/>\nBut it took a lot of hard work to get to where she is today.<br \/>\n\u201cI started swimming when I was about 6,\u201d she said. \u201cI wasn\u2019t very good. I have been slowly improving over the years. I made sectionals when I was 13, and ever since then, it has been a climb.<br \/>\n\u201cMy training the past couple of years has been pretty consistent. I have been moving up groups. When you go up a group, your hours increase, so you work more. I haven\u2019t started lifting yet. I feel like part of the reason is I used to be really tiny. My technique was there, but I was so small. I have gotten stronger.
