He pulled off World Championship titles in both events in 2017 and, after winning the men&#8217;s 100 free in 2019, is looking strong enough to do it again. However, he will need to get past stiff competition to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s 200 back will crown a new champion this year as defending champion\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong> did not qualify for Australia&#8217;s World Championship team. Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Margherita Panziera<\/strong> holds the top seed in the 200 back, but Olympic and 2017 World Championship silver medalist\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> is sure to be on a defined quest for gold. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong> and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Baker<\/strong> hold the second and third fastest seed times going into the preliminary session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>enters the women&#8217;s 50 fly with the fastest seed time and, after finishing second in the women&#8217;s 100 fly, is sure to pursue this gold with everything she has. The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Dahlia,\u00a0<\/strong>the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong>, and Egypt&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Farida Osman<\/strong> are among the top seeds.<\/p>\n<p>There are three heats in the men&#8217;s 800 free relay with Team USA seeded first overall, followed by Australia and China. However, one should not count out the 2017 gold and silver medalists Great Britain and Russia (Team USA claimed bronze).<\/p>\n<p>The sixth morning of competition will end with the women&#8217;s 800 free and, despite withdrawing from earlier events,\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> is still on the start list for the 800. Team USA teammate\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong> is seeded pretty high going into prelims, while eyes will be on China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Li Bingjie,\u00a0<\/strong>who gave Ledecky a good run for her money in 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The heat sheets for the preliminary session of day six of the 2019 FINA World Championships are now available.
