The team of\u00a0<strong>Leah Neale\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.30),\u00a0<strong>Madison Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.46),\u00a0<strong>Brianna Throssell\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.70) and\u00a0<strong>Kiah Melverton\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.18) put up the fastest time at 7:50.64 with the United States sitting in second place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allison Schmitt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.37),\u00a0<strong>Gabby DeLoof<\/strong> (1:58.35),\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.37) and\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.49) got the US the second seed at 7:51.58.<\/p>\n<p>Throssell scratched the 200 fly yesterday to focus on the mixed medley relay, which helped Australia win the gold medal at finals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I just thought it\u2019d be better to scratch in case I had to be put in the mixed at night and focused on the 4&#215;2,&#8221; Throssell said. &#8220;So it had to be made really quick because I only had 30 minutes to make up my mind but I don\u2019t regret this decision.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is expected to come down to Australia and the United States for the gold medal tonight as the Australians are expected to bring in\u00a0<strong>Ariarne Titmus\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Emma McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>while the Americans will bring in\u00a0<strong>Katie<\/strong> <strong>Ledecky <\/strong>(if she&#8217;s healthy) and potentially\u00a0<strong>Katie McLaughlin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;(McKeon and Titmus) swam so well so far this meet so I think tonight will be a really good race,&#8221; Throssell said.<\/p>\n<p>Russia will have lane three in the final as they were a 7:52.66 this morning. China (7:54.10) and Germany (7:54.30) were also able to make it through.<\/p>\n<p>Canada (7:55.10) is expected to be competitive in the final with the additions of\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ruck\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Penny Oleksiak\u00a0<\/strong>to the finals team.\u00a0<strong>Kayla Sanchez<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Emily Overholt\u00a0<\/strong>are expected to be the other two unless\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Smith\u00a0<\/strong>gets the nod.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary (7:55.40) and Japan (7:56.00) also qualified for the final.<\/p>\n<p>Poland (8:01.70), New Zealand (8:03.28), Hong Kong (8:04.98) and Korea (8:08.38) also picked up Olympic qualification spots by placing in the top 12.<\/p>\n<table class=\"summary competition-detailed-results active\">\n<tbody>\n<tr
