NEW YORK CITY, New York, August 20. SWIMMING legend Coughlin has long been known as a foodie, appearing on television shows as a celebrity cook and Tweeting about her garden full of organic vegetables and herbs and a chicken coop where she gets fresh eggs.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, she put that knowledge to use on the Food Network show “Chopped,” which pits chefs against one another in a quest to make delicious food out of mystery ingredients. They have a certain amount of time in which to make edible appetizers, entrees and desserts for a panel of judges. The worst chef is “chopped” from the competition, leaving one chef who impressed the judges most for all three rounds.<\/p>\n
Coughlin’s episode was filmed in January and will air September 3 on the Food Network. According to TVGuide.com, the episode will feature race car driver Danica Patrick, former football player Tiki Barber and martial arts fighter Chuck Zito. The episode synopsis mentions that salmon will be used for the appetizer, and that “chocolate-covered marshmallows cause stress when preparing entrees.”<\/p>\n
Among the shows Coughlin has appeared on to share her swimming and cooking stories include the “Today” show and “Rachael Ray.” She has also appeared on a couple of Food Network competition shows.
