FINA President <strong>Julia Maglione<\/strong> made the announcement, with Greensboro, North Carolina, Australia, Ukraine, China and Serbia falling short in their bids.<\/p>\n<p>Kazan (2015) and Budapest (2017) handled hosting duties at the past two World Championships, before the event moved to Gwangju, Korea, where it is currently taking place. The 2021 World Championships are scheduled for Fukuoka, Japan, which was host in 2001, and the 2023 World Champs will be held in Doha, Qatar.
