HAVANA, Cuba, August 31. IN what she has said is her final attempt, Diana Nyad stepped into the Caribbean Sea this morning on the Havana coastline for a swim toward the Florida Keys.<\/p>\n

At 8:59:02am EST, this Saturday morning, #DianaNyad jumped into the water &amp; began #XtremeDream #CubaToFlorida #FearlessNyad swim – TEAM NYAD&mdash; Diana Nyad (@diananyad) August 31, 2013<\/p>\n

The 103-mile swim is expected to take 60 hours, which could put Nyad back on land Monday evening, if all goes to plan. This will be her fifth attempt in more than 40 years to make the swim that no one has made without the assistance of a shark tank.
