The meet is taking place at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center from July 18 to July 21. Today&#8217;s events included the 100 free, women&#8217;s 1500 free, 200 breast, men\u2019s 800 free and 200 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Results can be found on Meet Mobile as 2019 CA Speedo Sectionals Santa Clarita.<\/p>\n<p>Brea Aquatics started off with the right foot as <strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> went home with two victories: the 100 free and 200 breast. In addition, fellow teammate <strong>Michael Tenney<\/strong> won the 200 fly. Overall several Brea swimmers raced in the A finals finishing top three.<\/p>\n<h2>Women\u2019s 100 free<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> from Brea Aquatics won the event by over two seconds with a 55.65. Quicksilver Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Ella Mazurek<\/strong> got silver in a 57.74, while <strong>Jamie Brennan<\/strong> from Beach Cities Swimming finished third with a 57.75.<\/p>\n<p>Gaucho Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Emily Ward<\/strong> came in fourth (57.82), followed by <strong>Marly Lough<\/strong> also from Brea Aquatics (57.92). <strong>Catherine Sanchez<\/strong> from La Mirada Armada finished sixth (57.93). Crow Country Club&#8217;s <strong>Bailey Hartman<\/strong> placed seventh (57.95) and 13-year-old <strong>Teia Salvino<\/strong> from Paseo Aquatics placed eight (58.24).<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 100 free<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Felix Chiun<\/strong> from De Anza Cupertino Aquatics went home with the gold in a 51.10. <strong>Joseph Lastelic<\/strong> from Gaucho Aquatics (51.26), and unattached swimmer <strong>Ryan Brimer <\/strong>(51.46) followed in second and third place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gavin Wight<\/strong> from Diablo Aquatics placed fourth with a 51.62, swimming unattached <strong>Spencer Daily<\/strong> came in fifth (51.98) and <strong>Zachary McIntyre<\/strong> from Marin Pirates finished sixth (52.23). <strong>Michael Babaian<\/strong> from Brea Aquatics (52.33) and Ccat Swimming&#8217;s <strong>Zac Van Zandt<\/strong> (52.46) came in seventh and eight respectively.<\/p>\n<h2>Women\u2019s 1500 free<\/h2>\n<p>With over a 15-second lead, <strong>Kathleen Sulkevich<\/strong> from La Mirada Armada went home with the title in 17:20.17. Gaucho Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Emily Boggess<\/strong> got the silver (17:35.88) and <strong>Alice Ciobanu<\/strong> from Tiger Aquatics finished third (17:40.21).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Kucik<\/strong> from Boulder City Henderson Swim Team came in fourth with almost an 18 seconds drop with a 17:45.77. La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>Rosalee Mira Santa Ana<\/strong> (17:46.13) and unattached swimmer <strong>Ellie Whitney<\/strong> (17:47.31) finished their race in fifth and sixth place. <strong>Nicole Stiles<\/strong> from Crow Canyon Country Club (17:49.60) and <strong>Sarah Cushman<\/strong> from La Mirada Armada (17:51.20) also swam in the fastest heat.<\/p>\n<h2>Women\u2019s 200 breast<\/h2>\n<p>For her second win of the night, Brea Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> finished first with a 2:31.88, dropping six seonds from this morning. <strong>Gabrielle Wei<\/strong> from Irvine Novaquatics came in second (2:35.13) and Crow Canyon Country Club&#8217;s <strong>Ana Jih-Schiff<\/strong> got the bronze with a 2:36.72.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming unattached <strong>Amelia Feick<\/strong> placed fourth (2:37.98), followed by Gaucho Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Brittney Straw<\/strong> (2:38.36) and <strong>Jacqueline Basham<\/strong> from Brea Aquatics (2:38.48). The seventh and eight place belonged to Crow Canyon Country Club&#8217;s <strong>Shelby Suppiger<\/strong> (2:38.72) and <strong>Sophia Sebastian<\/strong> from Quicksilver Swimming (2:41.77).<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 200 breast<\/h2>\n<p>Unattached swimmer <strong>Matthew McDermott<\/strong> clocked in first with a 2:19.83. Tri Valley Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Cole Reznick<\/strong> finished second with a 2:20.31 and unattached\u00a0 <strong>Anthony Moore<\/strong> (2:21.09).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Marella<\/strong> swimming unattached came in fourth (2:21.25), followed by Boulder City Henderson Swim Team&#8217;s <strong>Joseph Purdy<\/strong> (2:21.53) and <strong>Benjamin Hayes<\/strong> from California Aquatics (2:21.75). Alto Swim Club&#8217;s <strong>Edward Tay<\/strong> (2:23.79) and <strong>Marcello Quarante<\/strong> (2:24.30) from Gaucho Aquatics finished sixth and seventh respectively.<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 800 free<\/h2>\n<p>Orinda Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Michael Wheeler<\/strong> took the gold home with a 8:23.05. <strong>Mason Carlton<\/strong> from Quicksilver Swimming came in second in 8:24.12 and La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>William Schodorf<\/strong> finished third with 8:29.39.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth place belonged to <strong>Kennan Hotchkiss<\/strong> from West (8:29.42), followed by Boulder City Henderson Swim Team&#8217;s <strong>Mason Romantic<\/strong> (8:30.54). <strong>Michael Luna<\/strong> finished sixth after dropping almost 15 seconds (8:34.80). <strong>Thomas Jansen<\/strong> from Walnut Creek Aquabears (8:39.53) and Roadrunner Aquatic&#8217;s Noah Hultner (8:39.53) took seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<h2>Women\u2019s 200 fly<\/h2>\n<p>La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>Catherine Sanchez<\/strong> won the event in a 2:13.59. <strong>Zephanie Koh<\/strong> from Brea Aquatics went home with the silver (2:16.15) and <strong>Rosalee Mira Santa Ana<\/strong> from La Mirada Armada came in third (2:16.67). Also from Brea Aquatics, <strong>Emily Trieu<\/strong> finished fourth (2:18.40), followed by La Mirada Armada&#8217;s <strong>Maelynn Lawrence<\/strong> (2:18.69).<\/p>\n<p>Riverside Aquatics&#8217;s <strong>Liberty Williams<\/strong> came in sixth (2:18.81), followed by fellow teammate <strong>Samantha Nickell<\/strong> (2:19.58). <strong>Alexis Depaco<\/strong> from Crow Canyon Country Club (2:19.73) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h2>Men\u2019s 200 fly<\/h2>\n<p>Another Brea Aquatics victory came in from <strong>Michael Tenney<\/strong>, who was the only swimmer below two minutes by clocking 1:59.69. After a close race, Alto Swim Club&#8217;s <strong>Jonathan Affeld<\/strong> placed second with a 2:02.82, followed by <strong>Vincent Cheng<\/strong> from Brea Aquatics who finished third in 2:02.82.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brian Wang<\/strong> from Quicksilver Swimming came in fourth (2:04.37).
