The team competed a back dive pike (201B), a reverse two-and-a-half pike (305B) and a back one-and-a-half with two-and-a-half twists (5235B). The team was in first for the entire competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luliia Timoshinina<\/strong> and <strong>Sergey Nazin<\/strong>\u00a0from Russia came in second place. The team&#8217;s dive list had the highest degree of difficulty of the top five placing teams. Their second and third dives both had a huge DD of 3.4.<\/p>\n<p>Americans <strong>Andrew Capobianco<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Katrina Young\u00a0<\/strong>earned a bronze medal. This is the American&#8217;s third medal at this World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>The American team started the competition in fifteenth after their first dive. Their final dive, an armstand back double with one-and-a-half twists (6243D), helped the team earn their final spot.<\/p>\n<p>Americans have won three medals during this World Championships, the first medals they&#8217;ve won at this meet in 14 years.<\/p>\n<p>Placement at this World Championships is particularly important because it is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/road-to-tokyo-2020-usa-diving-events-to-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first qualifier event<\/a> for the 2020 Olympics.
