NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Brentwood Tenn. native and rising senior\u00a0Lauren Hurt\u00a0<\/strong>has verbally committed to Rice University and will arrive on campus at the start of the 2020-21 season.<\/p>\n

Hurt, who swims year-round with Nashville Aquatic Club, owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards and recently had three top-12 finishes at the Southern Premier Invitational in March. She recorded two best times at Juniors East in December and was the 50m back runner-up at the American LCM Championships last summer.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Brentwood High School, Hurt is a five-time TISCA Tennessee State Championship finalist and is also a NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honoree.\u00a0She earned bronze medals in both the 100 back and 200 IM as a junior after placing fifth in the 200 free during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
