PHOENIX, Arixona, September 11. THE Chinese National Games came to a close earlier with three Chinese swimmers breaking 15 minutes in the men’s 1500 freestyle. Naturally, those three were led by Sun Yang, who coasted to the win with a 14:53.17. Obviously, Sun Yang could be a lot faster, and as evidenced by his 1:44.4 in the 200 free earlier in the meet, he was in prime form. But he did what was needed to post the win, posting 29-high and 30-low for 1250 meters before blasting out a 27.2 in the final 50. Joining him under 15 minutes was Yang Zhixian and Wang Kechan, who both posted 14:58s to get second and third.
