It is a series where our head video producer\u00a0<strong>Andy Ross\u00a0<\/strong>will travel around the country to tell the stories of the athletes you don\u2019t know much about.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-HGXjv2rMvs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s episode focuses on US National Team member\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>of Riptide Swim Team in Minnesota. Smith was training in Fort Myers at Florida Gulf Coast University with her teammates as she was gearing up for the 2019 World Championships. Smith will be swimming the 200 back only in Gwangju, South Korea later on this month.<\/p>\n<p>Smith has had a good summer as she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/regan-smith-re-breaks-world-junior-record-in-100-back-with-58-45\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lowered the world junior record<\/a> in the 100 back at a low key meet in Indianapolis in June. The 58.45 she swam that weekend put her second in the world for 2019 but she will only be swimming the 200 back in Gwangju. Smith made her debut on Team USA at the 2017 Worlds in Budapest when she was 15 as she placed eighth in the 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>She also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/regan-smith-american-record-holder-verbally-commits-to-stanford-for-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recently committed to Stanford<\/a>, but before she does that she will have an opportunity to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.
