Competition for the 2019 Speedo Sectionals in Gainesville continued today at the O\u2019Connell Pool. Day three events included the 100 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, 200 IM, 400 free, and 400 medley relay. Gator Swim Club continued to dominate the meet, with several first place finishers and multiple people in the top eight for every event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Back\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Caitlin Brooks<\/b> brought home the gold in the first event on day three, dropping time to touch the wall with a 1:01.56.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her teammate, <\/span>Sherridon Dressel<\/b>, placed second with a 1:02.55. Third place went to<\/span> Ella Bathurst<\/b>, unattached, with a time of 1:03.55.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Episcopal Amberjaxs\u2019 <\/span>Mary Kelley<\/b> (1:04.16), Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Carmen Marquez <\/b>(1:04.73), Gator\u2019s<\/span> Emma Ball <\/b>(1:04.73), CANE\u2019s <\/span>Alaina Skellett<\/b> (1:04.85), and Blue Dolfins\u2019 <\/span>Megan Hansen<\/b> (1:06.41) rounded out the top eight finishers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Back\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Coming in first for the men\u2019s 100 back was <\/span>Ethan Beach<\/b>, swimming unattached. Beach had almost a two-second drop with a 56.81 to land him the victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming Unattached, <\/span>Dakota Mahaffey<\/b> placed second with a 57.42. Bringing up third place was Tampa Bay\u2019s <\/span>Joseph Licht<\/b> with a 57.92.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a close race for the rest of the top eight. Finishers included Flood Aquatics\u2019 <\/span>Joshua Zuchowski<\/b> (58.21), Unattached <\/span>Yeziel Morales<\/b> (58.23), YMCA of Central Florida\u2019s <\/span>Conor Lynch<\/b> (58.25), South Florida\u2019s <\/span>Lance Lesage<\/b> (58.60), and United Swim Club\u2019s <\/span>Hayden Kwan<\/b> (59.17).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Breast\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Adrianna Deboer<\/b> touched the wall first with a second-and-a-half drop to land her with a 32.40.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second place finisher, Blue Dolfin\u2019s <\/span>Taylor Grabenhorst<\/b>, was over one-second behind Deboer with a 33.83. Almost another second behind her was Jupiter Dragons\u2019 <\/span>Heidi Smithwick<\/b>, who took third with a 34.33.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarasota Tsunami\u2019s <\/span>Sarah Koenig<\/b> (34.40), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Madison Koutavas <\/b>(34.43), Gator\u2019s<\/span> Juliana Lopez <\/b>(35.24), Area Tallahassee\u2019s <\/span>Saige Kemeny <\/b>(35.28), and Pipeline\u2019s <\/span>Ava Davis<\/b> (36.19) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Breast\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

TIDE\u2019s <\/span>Jared Pike <\/b>dropped time to bring home the win in the men\u2019s 50 breast with a 28.71.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming Unattached, <\/span>Marco Guarente<\/b> placed second with a 29.13. Coming in for third place was Club Seminole\u2019s <\/span>Juan Sequera<\/b> in a 29.13.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unattached <\/span>Thomas Nagle<\/b> (30.06), Saint Petersburg\u2019s <\/span>Christopher Dieffenthaller<\/b> (30.59), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Colbi Lopez Miro <\/b>(30.95), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Ansen Meyer <\/b>(30.96), and Radient\u2019s<\/span> Kyle Trelka<\/b> (31.47) rounded out the top eight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Fly\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s<\/span> Sheridon Dressel<\/b>, coming off her second place win in the 100 back, captured the win in this event with almost a one-second drop to land her at a 27.06.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a close race for second, Swim Florida\u2019s <\/span>Madeline Burt<\/b> came out on top with a 27.87. Planet Swim\u2019s <\/span>Kathryn Saurborn <\/b>brought up third place with a 27.92.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tampa Elite\u2019s <\/span>Alexis Mulvihill<\/b> (27.94), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Emma Ball <\/b>(28.04), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Olivia Peoples <\/b>(28.31), East Coast Aquatic Club\u2019s <\/span>Madison Cummings<\/b> (28.74), and Unattached <\/span>Julia Rodriguez<\/b> (29.09) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Fly\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Bayley Main <\/b>clocked in with a 24.77, dropping time to earn him the first place spot in the men\u2019s 50 fly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Teammate <\/span>Alec Dawson<\/b> placed second with a 25.51. Episcopal Amberjax\u2019s <\/span>Sterling Crane<\/b> finished third with a 25.70.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Metro Aquatic Club of Miami\u2019s<\/span> Adrian Aguilar <\/b>(25.72), Sarasota\u2019s<\/span> Tiago Pereira<\/b> (25.87), Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Steven Aimable <\/b>(25.89), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Ivan Gutierrez <\/b>(26.42) and Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Sidrell Williams<\/b> (26.65) rounded out the top eight.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 IM\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Kelly Fertel <\/b>touched the wall in the women\u2019s 200 IM with a 2:14.44, dropping almost five seconds to obtain the victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind her in second place was <\/span>Vanessa Pearl<\/b>, unattached, with a 2:16.63. Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Emma Weyant <\/b>brought home third place with a 2:17.62.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Savanna Faulconer <\/b>(2:19.94), Unattached <\/span>Ella Bathurst<\/b> (2:20.16), Swim Florida\u2019s <\/span>Olivia McMurray <\/b>(2:20.23), Club Seminole\u2019s <\/span>Hannah Womer<\/b> (2:21.14), and North Palm Beach\u2019s <\/span>Jennifer Secres<\/b>t (2:23.82) rounded out the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming unattached, <\/span>Grant Sanders<\/b> had over a one-second drop to win the men\u2019s 200 IM with a 2:02.10.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Gerry Quinn<\/b> placed second with a 2:05.50. <\/span>Brett Saunders<\/b> from Tampa Elite finished third with a 2:06.72.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Patriot\u2019s<\/span> Gabriel Parnell <\/b>(2:07.33), Flood Aquatics\u2019 <\/span>Joshua Zuchowski<\/b> (2:07.36), Unattached <\/span>Miguel Cancel <\/b>(2:07.60), Episcopal Amberjax\u2019s <\/span>Jace Crawford<\/b>J (2:09.00), and Saint Andrew\u2019s <\/span>Ricardo Martinez <\/b>rounded out the top eight.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a close race for first place, Gator\u2019s <\/span>Gabrielle Hillis <\/b>came out on top, dropping time to touch the wall with a 25.88.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hillis\u2019 teammate<\/span> Isabella Garofalo <\/b>placed second with a 25.93, and Tampa Elite\u2019s <\/span>Alexis Mulvihill<\/b> finished third with a 26.02.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Talia Bates<\/b> (26.13), Berkeley\u2019s <\/span>Chloe Grimme<\/b> (26.33), Seminole\u2019s <\/span>Stephanie Akakabota <\/b>(26.69), Blue Dolfins\u2019 <\/span>Micayla Cronk<\/b> (26.96), and Blue Dolfins\u2019 <\/span>Megan Hansen <\/b>(27.14) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator Swim Club came out on top again, this time with a victory from <\/span>Alberto Mestre Vivas <\/b>in the men\u2019s 50 free. Vivas dropped time to claim the victory with a 22.65.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator Swim Club also dominated second and third place, with <\/span>Willie Davis<\/b> touching the wall for second with a 23.34, with <\/span>William Davis<\/b> right behind him in third with a 23.64.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Viktor Toth <\/b>(23.96), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Marty Strange<\/b> (24.04), Seminole\u2019s <\/span>Dawson Joyce<\/b> (24.19), YMCA of Central Florida\u2019s <\/span>Connor Smoak<\/b> (24.55), and Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Steven Aimable<\/b> (24.58) completed the tight race for top eight.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 Free<\/b><\/p>\n

Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Emma Weyant<\/b> was back for her fourth win of the meet, dropping three seconds to claim the victory in the women\u2019s 400 freestyle with a 4:14.93.<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind Weyant was South Florida\u2019s <\/span>Mary Smutny<\/b>, who placed second with a 4:16.77. Gator\u2019s <\/span>Georgia Darwent<\/b> touched the wall for third in a 4:17.56.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rounding out the top eight was South Florida\u2019s <\/span>Kathleen Golding<\/b> (4:18.14), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Nikki Miller<\/b> (4:20.45), Swim Florida\u2019s <\/span>Olivia McMurray<\/b> (4:21.48), Area Tallahassee\u2019s <\/span>Stella Grace Watts <\/b>(4:24.30), and Gator\u2019s <\/span>Victoria Bindi<\/b> (4:25.79).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 Free\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

No stranger to first place, Ridgefield\u2019s <\/span>Kieran Smith<\/b> claimed victory again. This time it was with an eight second drop in the men\u2019s 400 free. Smith touched the wall in a 3:50.99, a near seven seconds ahead of his closest competitor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Nicholas Sweetser<\/b> finished second with a 3:57.36, with Sarasota Tsunami\u2019s <\/span>Arik Katz<\/b> right behind him in third with a 3:57.93.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unattached <\/span>Alfonso Mestre<\/b> (3:58.41), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Peyton Werner <\/b>(3:58.50), Saint Petersburg\u2019s <\/span>Caleb Kravitz<\/b> (4:02.35), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Matthew Anderson<\/b> (4:0359), and Gator\u2019s <\/span>Tate Callahan<\/b> (4:06.74) completed out the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 Medley Relay\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The Blue Dolfins\u2019 quartet of <\/span>Jaden Herbet, Taylor Grabenhorst, Abigail Gibbons, <\/b>and <\/span>Micayla Cronk <\/b>had a three-second drop to win the medley relay in a 4:17.44.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Lain Shahboz, Juliana Lopez, Talia Bates and Leah Reisker <\/b>touched second with a 4:19.61. Sarasota\u2019s (A) <\/span>Naomi Chance, Gracie Weyant, Isabel Traba <\/b>and <\/span>Savannah Barr <\/b>brought home third place with a 4:21.67.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>Bolles (B) (4:24.51), Sarasota (B) (4:25.42), South Florida Aquatic Club (4:26.62), Bolles (A) (4:26.99) and Sarasota Tsunami (4:27.49) rounded out the top eight for the women\u2019s relays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 Medley Relay\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s quartet of <\/span>Nicholas Eunice, Dylan Brisco, Alec Dawson, and Julian Hill <\/b>took home the gold in the final event of the night with a 3:55.23.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bolles\u2019 (A) <\/span>John Vandeusen, William Jones, Cobi Lopez Miro <\/b>and <\/span>Jackson Kirk <\/b>placed second with a 3:56.14. South Florida Aquatic Club\u2019s <\/span>Lance Lesage, Juan Pablo Pineda, Rafael Rodriguez <\/b>and <\/span>Miguel Sierra <\/b>touched the wall for third in a 3:58.38.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

T2 Aquatics (3:58.42), Metro Aquatic Club of Miami (3:58.55), Bolles (B) (3:58.65), Saint Andrew\u2019s Aquatics (4:02.16), Blue Dolfins (B) 4:03.14 rounded out the top eight in the last event of the night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
