The 2019 Speedo Sectionals in Gainesville continued today with the second day of competition. Events included the 200 free, 100 breast, 50 back, 100 fly, 400 IM, and the 800 free relay. <\/span>Emma Weyant <\/b>and <\/span>Kieran Smith<\/b> continued their winnings streaks from the night before Gator Swim Club proved to dominate the meet with their several event winners and highest men\u2019s and women\u2019s team score.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 200 Free\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Emma Weyant<\/b> kicked off night two in Gainesville with over a one-second drop to win the women\u2019s 200 free in a 2:01.96. Weyant is no stranger to first place, as she won the women\u2019s 1500 free just last night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blue Dolfin\u2019s <\/span>Micayla Cronk<\/b> touched close behind Weyant to place second with a 2:02.09. Placing third was Gator\u2019s <\/span>Isabella Garofalo <\/b>with a 2:02.50. \u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Gator Swim Club dominated the rest of the top eight, with finishers including Unattached <\/span>Ella Bathurst<\/b> (2:03.48), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Nikki Miller<\/b> (2:03.53),<\/span> Gator\u2019s <\/span>Savanna Faulconer<\/b> (2:03.57), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Talia Bates<\/b> (2:03.78), and Gator\u2019s <\/span>Kelly Fertel<\/b> (2:05.79).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 200 Free\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Coming in first place for the men from Gator Swim Club was <\/span>Andrea D\u2019Arrigo <\/b>with a 1:50.67, dropping almost 4 seconds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

.4 behind D\u2019Arrigo was teammate <\/span>Gerry Quinn <\/b>with a 1:50.71. Bringing up third was Saint Petersburg\u2019s<\/span> Lukas Cote<\/b> in a 1:53.11.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a close race for the rest of the top eight, with all competitors finishing within tenths of a second of each other. Finishers included Gator\u2019s <\/span>Julian Hill<\/b> (1:53.15), Unattached <\/span>Alfonso Mestre<\/b> (1:53.19), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Matthew Anderson<\/b> (1:53.31), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Peyton Werner <\/b>(1:53.38), Unattached <\/span>Dakota Mahaffey<\/b> (1:53.49).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Breast\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Swimming unattached, <\/span>Vanessa Pearl<\/b> brought home the win in the women\u2019s 100 breast with a 1:10.34 and a half-second drop. Pearl beat out the next closest in the field by almost two seconds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming in second place was Blue Dolfin\u2019s <\/span>Taylor Grabenhorst<\/b> in a 1:12.12. Third place went to Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Madison Koutavas<\/b> with a 1:13.34.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Carly Schwab<\/b> (1:13.53), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Adrianna Deboer<\/b> (1:13.55), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Anna Moore<\/b> (1:14.10), Area Tallahassee\u2019s <\/span>Saige Kemeny<\/b> (1:14.77), and Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Gracie Weyant <\/b>(1:14.96) rounded out the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Breast\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Marco Guarente, <\/b>swimming unattached, placed first in the men\u2019s 100 breast with a three-second drop, touching the wall in a 1:02.81.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming unattached, <\/span>Grant Sanders <\/b>touched second with a 1:03.87. Tide\u2019s <\/span>Jared Pike<\/b> placed third with a 1:04.00.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tampa Elite\u2019s <\/span>Brett Saunders<\/b> (1:05.52), Unattached <\/span>Thomas Nagle<\/b> (1:06.03), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Colbi Lopez Miro<\/b> (1:06.28), Club Seminole\u2019s <\/span>Juan Sequera <\/b>(1:06.90), and T2\u2019s <\/span>Andrew Garner<\/b> (1:06.91) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 50 Back\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Caitlin Brooks<\/b> blew away the field in this short race, dropping time and touching the wall for a 28.67.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming unattached, <\/span>Ella Bathurst <\/b>placed second with a 30.03. Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Carmen Marquez<\/b> clocked in at third in a 30.22.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Emma Bell<\/b> (30.26), Eagle\u2019s <\/span>Erika Pelaez<\/b> (30.46), Unattached <\/span>Rosie Zavaros<\/b> (30.55), East Coast Aquatic Club\u2019s <\/span>Megan Murphy<\/b> (31.19) and CANE\u2019s <\/span>Alaina Skellett <\/b>(30.49) rounded out the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 50 Back\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Swimming unattached, <\/span>Dakota Mahaffey<\/b> edged out his competitors for first place with a 26.44 and over a half-second drop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ethan Beach<\/b>, unattached, brought up second place with a 26.53. YMCA of Central Florida\u2019s <\/span>Conor Lynch<\/b> placed third with a 26.79.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Bayley Main<\/b> (27.09), Unattached <\/span>Yeziel Morales <\/b>(27.17), Seminole\u2019s<\/span> Dawson Joyce<\/b> (27.39), United Swim Club\u2019s <\/span>Hayden Kwan<\/b> (27.68), and Flood Aquatics\u2019 <\/span>Joshua Zuchowsk<\/b>i (27.69) composed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 100 Fly\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Talia Bates<\/b> clocked in at a 1:00.75, earning her the spot of first place in the women\u2019s 100 fly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swim Florida\u2019s <\/span>Madeline Burt <\/b>finished second in a 1:03.09.<\/span> Tampa Elite\u2019s <\/span>Alexis Mulvihill<\/b> brought up third in a 1:02.17.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a tight race for the rest of the top eight. Finishers included Highlander\u2019s <\/span>Caroline Cooper<\/b> (1:02.30), Planet Swim\u2019s <\/span>Sara Stotler<\/b> (1:02.85), Blue Dolfin\u2019s <\/span>Abigail Gibbons <\/b>(1:03.03), Team Velocity\u2019s <\/span>Bella Answeeney<\/b> (1:03.04), and East Coast Aquatic Club\u2019s <\/span>Madison Cummings <\/b>(1:03.05).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 100 Fly<\/b><\/h2>\n

Once again, Gator\u2019s took the win with <\/span>William Davis<\/b>, clocking in at a 54.12 with almost a two-second drop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing in second place was teammate <\/span>Willie Davis<\/b> with a 55.09. Third place went to Episcopal AmberJax\u2019s <\/span>Sterling Crane<\/b> with a 55.23.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Tomas Peribonio<\/b> (55.89), Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Gabriel Araya<\/b> (56.20), Episcopal AmberJax\u2019s <\/span>Jace Crawford<\/b> (56.32), Gator\u2019s <\/span>Alec Dawson<\/b> (56.64), and Gator\u2019s <\/span>Nicholas Hackett<\/b> (57.24) rounded out the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 400 IM\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Emma Weyant <\/b>was back again to defend her winning streak, this time in the 400 IM. Weyant clocked in at a 4:44.12, dropping almost 4 seconds and obtaining her third win of the meet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swimming Unattached, <\/span>Vanessa Pearl<\/b> placed second with a 4:49.64, after just coming off a victory in the 100 breaststroke a few events before. Gator\u2019s <\/span>Savanna Faulconer <\/b>finished third with a 4:50.44.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Kelly Fertel (4:50.97), <\/b>South Florida\u2019s <\/span>Kathleen Golding <\/b>(4:52.51), Unattached <\/span>Rosie Zavaros<\/b> (4:59.14), Sarasota\u2019s <\/span>Michaela Mattes<\/b> (5:03.38) and Unattached <\/span>Ella Martinez <\/b>(5:06.33) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 400 IM\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Dropping a whopping 13.5 seconds was Ridgefield\u2019s <\/span>Kieran Smith. <\/b>Smith clocked in at a 4:17.26 and won the event by over 10 seconds. Just last night he dropped 14 seconds to win the 800 free.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming in second was unattached <\/span>Miguel Cancel<\/b> with a 4:27.48. Unattached <\/span>Grant Sanders<\/b> took third with a 4:31.89.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator\u2019s <\/span>Nicholas Sweetser<\/b> (4:33.09), Azura Florida\u2019s <\/span>Matheo Mateos<\/b> (4:34.17), Bolles\u2019 <\/span>John Vandeusen<\/b> (4:35.34), Tampa Elite\u2019s <\/span>Brett Saunders<\/b> (4:35.68), and Flood Aquatics\u2019<\/span> Joshua Zuchowski <\/b>(4:36.29) completed the top eight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s 800 Free Relay\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Sarasota\u2019s (A) <\/span>Emma Weyant, Savannah Barr, Addison Sauickie, <\/b>and<\/span> Michaela Mattes <\/b>dominated the field by 12 seconds and brought home the gold with a 8:25.04 and two-second drop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Megan McGrath, Nicole Sowell, Victoria Ortiz, <\/b>and <\/span>Leah Degeorge <\/b>placed second with an 8:37.53. Blue Dolfin\u2019s (A) <\/span>Micayla Cronk, Julia Mauter, Isabella Bishop <\/b>and<\/span> Carlie Rose <\/b>brought up third with an 8:40.19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gator Swim Club (8:41.56), Swim Florida (8:41.94), Sarasota (B) (8:45.29), South Florida Aquatic Club (8:49.18), Blue Dolfins (B) (8:56.66) rounded out the top eight 800 free relays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Men\u2019s 800 Free Relay<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Gator Swim Club added to their wins for the night with the relay of <\/span>Nicholas Sweetser, Nicholas Eunice, Trevor McGovern<\/b>, and <\/span>Julian Hill <\/b>placing first with a 7:44.40 and over four-second drop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Metro Aquatic Club of Miami\u2019s <\/span>Andres Wong, Carlos Nava, Adrian Aguilar, <\/b>and <\/span>Brandon Vives <\/b>placed second with a 7:51.11. Placing third was Bolles\u2019 <\/span>Daniel Bowen, Chance Conde, Yrenco Ramon Garcia Nohra <\/b>and <\/span>Ethan Thomas <\/b>with a 7:55.19.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Swim Florida (7:55.98), South Florida Aquatic Club (8:00.21), Tampa Bay Aquatic Club (8:02.47), T2 Aquatics (8:02.91), and Sarasota Sharks (8:03.07) rounded out the final top eight of the night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
