NEW COMMIT: Ashley Cusano\u00a0<\/strong>of Big Stone Gap, Va. has verbally committed to North Carolina State University and will arrive in Raleigh as a member of the class of 2024.<\/p>\n

Cusano, who does her club swimming with Barracuda Swim Club of Northeast Tennessee, is a talented backstroker\/butterflyer and owns four Summer Juniors standards. She placed 18th in both the 50 fly and 200 back at NCSAs in March after racing four events at Juniors East in December. Last summer, she recorded a trio of best times at NCSAs where her highest finish was an 11th-place showing in the 100m back.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Union High School, Cusano is a four-time Virginia Class 2 State Championship finalist.\u00a0She won the 100 back\/100 fly combo as a junior after placing first in the 100 back as well as second in the 200 IM during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n
