Former Texas A&M standout swimmer Lisa Bratton<\/strong> has been nominated for the 2019 Woman of the Year award as announced by the NCAA office on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Bratton is one of 585 female college athletes that have been nominated by NCAA member schools for this award. The NCAA Woman of the Year award was established in 1991 and recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.<\/p>\n

The 2019 Woman of the Year nominees compete in 23 different sports across all three divisions, with Division I representing 262 females. Conferences select up to two nominees from the pool and then the Woman of the Year selection committee will choose the Top 30 honorees \u2013 10 from each division. The selection committee will also determine the top three honorees from each division from the Top 30 and announce the nine finalists in September. The 2019 Woman of the Year award will be determined from the nine finalists, with the annual award ceremony on Oct. 20 in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
