NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Garden City, N.Y. native\u00a0Jake Newmark\u00a0<\/strong>has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin and will join the Badgers in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

A talented backstroker and freestyler, Newmark swims year-round with Long Island Express and owns five Summer Juniors standards. He finaled in the 50\/100 back combo at NCSAs in March and won five events at the MIT Invitational in December. Last summer, he earned 100% best times at Metropolitan LCM Seniors before going on to win the 200m free at Eastern Zone Seniors.<\/p>\n

A rising senior at Garden City High School, Newmark is a three-time New York Federation State Championships finalist.\u00a0He won the 200 free and 500 free as a junior after placing 10th in the 100 back during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n
