He lowered the previous meet record that he broke this morning with a 24.53. Andrew now has the second fastest time in the world for 2019 behind Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Nikolaev<\/strong> (24.23). Kesely was a 4:05.12 at the Hungarian Nationals in March and currently sits sixth in the world rankings. Detti won by nearly three full seconds over\u00a0<strong>Matteo Ciampi\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.73) of Italy. Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anton Ipsen\u00a0<\/strong>(3:49.99) was third. Detti has been faster this year with his 3:43.36 from the Italian Nationals in April as he sits tied for second in the world rankings for 2019. Vall improved on her season best of 1:07.37 from March as she moves into the top eight in the world. Vall was just off her 1:06.44 Spanish Record from 2017. Vall finished ahead of Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Martina Carraro\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.04) and Switzerland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lisa Mamie\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.42). Peaty may have been a little too close for comfort to Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong>, who was second at 59.30. Martinenghi is now 11th in the world rankings for 2019, improving on his 59.37 from January. That swim should put Martinenghi on the World Championships team for the Italians in four weeks. Barratt was second in the 50 back earlier in the night and moved up to third in the world rankings in the 50 fly with her swim. Le Clos and Metella sit in the top two spots in the world rankings for 2019 with Metella on top with his 50.85 from April. Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Piero Codia\u00a0<\/strong>(51.95), who had the fastest time from any of the international meets in 2018, wound up third. Blume is currently ranked third in the world with that time as she won in Rome over\u00a0<strong>Femke Heemskerk\u00a0<\/strong>(24.71) of the Netherlands. Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lidon Munoz\u00a0<\/strong>(24.82) finished in third place. Fratus originally had the fastest time in the world for 2019 with his 21.31 from Monaco. He swam just a tick slower than that as he is one of the favorites to win the gold medal at the World Championships in four weeks.<\/p>\n<p>*It was originally reported that Fratus had the world&#8217;s fastest times but the times from the Mare Nostrum had not been added to FINA&#8217;s world rankings list thus a mistake was made.<\/p>\n<p>Fratus finished ahead of 2012 Olympic Champion\u00a0<strong>Florent Manaudou\u00a0<\/strong>of France at 21.72. Manaudou is swimming his first race back since retiring after the 2016 Olympic Games. USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(21.94) was third. Manaudou moved up to eighth in the world rankings for 2019 with his swim. He is still well off his best time of 21.19 from 2015 but he is still world class in the 50.<\/p>\n<p>Fratus is now leading the world rankings ahead of Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Proud\u00a0<\/strong>and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Vergani<\/strong>, who did not compete at the Sette Colli meet in Rome. Quadarella swam a 15:48.84 in the event to lower her meet record of 15:56.81 from 2018.
