The 2019 Series also marked the first time USA Swimming selected its events via a request for proposal and bid process, which it did once again for the 2020 Series, creating a strong partnership with Local Organizing Committees (LOC) who play a vital role in the planning, marketing and selling of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Knoxville and Des Moines will return as hosts for the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series after those facilities hosted for the first time in 2019. Indianapolis returns as a host for the first time since 2018 when\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>broke a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-smashes-1500-free-world-record-first-night-tyr-indianapolis-pro-swim-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">world record in the 1500 free<\/a>. Greensboro and Mission Viejo will make their TYR Pro Swim Series debuts in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe work closely with our event organizing partners to offer a premium experience for athletes and fans,\u201d USA Swimming Chief Commercial Officer Shana Ferguson said. \u201cWe are fortunate to have incredible partners and strong local clubs\u2019 support as we showcase the world\u2019s greatest athletes in communities throughout the U.S. We will continue to use the TYR Pro Swim Series to provide more exposure to the best in international competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe at TYR are proud to support athletes with the penultimate event series on their journey to the 2020 Olympic Trials,\u201d began Chief Executive Officer Matt DiLorenzo. \u201cIf 2018 and 2019 are any indication of what is to come, TYR is eager to provide fans and local communities with a first-class spectator experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The TYR Pro Swim Series is a 3.5-day long course event televised on NBCSN, the Olympic Channel, as well as live streamed at usaswimming.org.
