The men&#8217;s 50m breaststroke, women&#8217;s 50m back, and men&#8217;s 100m freestyle all had two first-place finishers.<\/p>\n<p>French favorites <strong>Charolette Bonnet <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Stravius\u00a0<\/strong>got things done again during this session with <strong>Hannah Miley<\/strong>\u00a0of Great Britain having another nice day. Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Felipe Lima<\/strong>, <strong>Joao Gomes Jr.<\/strong> and<strong> Jhenifer Conceicao<\/strong> also won their events, respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 800m Free Final<\/h3>\n<p>Only two swimmers competed in the women&#8217;s 800m freestyle. <strong>Nolwenn Nunes<\/strong> of France finished first with a time of 9:03.78. <strong>Naome Horter<\/strong> of France finished second (9:21.08).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50m Butterfly A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Winning the first A final of the session at the 2019 French Open Swimming was <b>Jeremy Stravius<\/b> of France. Stravius finished first in the men&#8217;s 50m free\u00a0with a time of 24.07. Getting to the wall second was <b>Mathys Goosen<\/b> of the Netherlands. He finished with a time of 24.17.<\/p>\n<p>Placing third in the event was <b>Maxime Grousset<\/b> of France finishing with a time of 24.30.\u00a0<b>Yonel Govindin<\/b> of France finished fourth (24.46) while <b>Nicolas Vermorel<\/b> finished fifth (24.59).<\/p>\n<p>Tying for sixth was <b>Jacob Peters<\/b> of Great Britain\u00a0and <b>Julien Henx<\/b> of Luxembourg. They both swam a time of 24.61.<b> Flavien Aubry<\/b> finished eighth (24.79).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m Freestyle A Final<\/h3>\n<p><b>Charolette Bonnet <\/b>of France cruised to first in the A final of the women&#8217;s 200m free at the 2019 French Open Swimming. She touched at a 1:57.84. Closest to her and finishing second with a time of 2:00.23 was <b>Reva Foos<\/b> of Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Taking third with a time of 2:01.40 was <b>Beryl Gastaldello<\/b> of France. Finishing fourth (2:01.67) was <b>Joana Desbordes<\/b> of France.\u00a0\u00a0<b>Manuella Lyrio\u00a0<\/b>finished a close fifth (2:01.72).<\/p>\n<p>Finishing a tenth later at 2:01.82 was\u00a0<b>Laura Riedemann<\/b>\u00a0of Germany taking sixth.\u00a0<b>Marjolein Delno<\/b> of the Netherlands finished seventh (2:01.88) with\u00a0<b>Assia Touati <\/b>placing eighth (2:02.72).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Breaststroke A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Finishing first and second in the A final of the men&#8217;s 50 breast were Brazil teammates\u00a0<b>Joao Gomez Jr.<\/b> and <b>Felipe Lima<\/b>. Gomez Jr. finished first with a time of 27.07. Lima took second (27.19).<\/p>\n<p><b>Darragh Greene<\/b> of Ireland finished third with a time of 27.76. A tenth off him, finishing fourth with a time of 27.86, was<b> Bernhard Reitshammer<\/b> of Austria.<\/p>\n<p>In fifth was <b>Tobias B. Bjerg <\/b>of Denmark. Sixth (28.21) went to <b>Zaccaria Casna <\/b>of Italy, France&#8217;s\u00a0<b>Theo Bussiere<\/b>\u00a0finished seventh (28.28) with <b>Ties Elzerman<\/b> of the Netherlands getting out touched for\u00a0eighth (28.29).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Breast A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Winning her second event of the meet, the women&#8217;s 100m breaststroke, was\u00a0Brazil&#8217;s <b>Jhennifer Conceicao<\/b>. She won a close A final race with a time of 1:08.34. Finishing second with a time of 1:08.38 was <b>Lisa Mamie<\/b> of Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kayla Van Der Merwe<\/b> of Great Britain finished third with a time of 1:08.56. In fourth with a time of 1:08.70 was Dutch swimmer <b>Tes Schouten<\/b>. <b>Matilde Schroeder<\/b> of Denmark finished fifth (1:09.67).<\/p>\n<p>Taking sixth (1:09.97) in the event was <b>Rosey Metz <\/b>of the Netherlands. <b>Fanny Deberghes<\/b> of France finished seventh (1:10.36) while <b>Cornelia Pammer <\/b>of Austria took eighth (1:11.87).<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Men&#8217;s 400m IM A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Luxembourg&#8217;s <b>Raphael Stacchiotti <\/b>won a close A final of the men&#8217;s 400m IM. He finished with a time of 4:22.24, not far ahead of <b>Arjan Knipping <\/b>of the Netherlands who finished\u00a0second with a time of 4:23.05. <b>Geoffrey Renard<\/b> of France stayed with the two, getting to the wall third with a time of 4:24.41.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the rest of the field and finishing fourth with a time 4:31.26 was <b>Clement Bidard <\/b>of France. <b>Jakob Goodman<\/b> of Great Britain finished fifth (4:33.14).<\/p>\n<p>In sixth with a time of 4:34.65 was<b> Emmanuel Limozin<\/b> of France.<b>Ramon Klenz<\/b> of Germany placed seventh (4:35.45) and\u00a0<b>Theo Goyeaud<\/b>of France finished eighth (4:39.19).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Butterfly A Final<\/h3>\n<p>It was <b>Jeanette Ottesen<\/b> of Denmark who came out on top in the A final of the women&#8217;s 100m fly at the 2019 French Open Swimming. She finished first with a time of 59.06. Finishing a close second (59.13) was <b>Marie Wattel<\/b> of France.<\/p>\n<p>In third finishing with a time of 59.90\u00a0was Brazil&#8217;s <b>Daynara De Paula<\/b>. <b>Kim Busch<\/b> of the Netherlands got to the wall fourth (1:00.10) with\u00a0<b>Beryl Gastaldello<\/b>\u00a0of France finishing fifth (1:00.34).<\/p>\n<p>Sixth went to <b>Anais Arlandis<\/b> of France. She touched at a 1:00.62.<b> Ellen Walshe<\/b> of Ireland placed seventh (1:01.08) and <b>Aurora Petronio<\/b> of Italy finished eighth (1:01.30).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100m Freestyle A Final<\/h3>\n<p>An exciting men&#8217;s 100m free A final resulted in another tie for first between Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marcelo Chierighini<\/strong> and France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mehdy Metella<\/strong>. The two finished with a time of 48.83.<\/p>\n<p>Placing third (49.17) and fourth (49.29) were Brazilian teammates\u00a0<strong>Breno Correia<\/strong> and <strong>Pedro Spajari<\/strong>. In fifth place with a time of 49.32 was <strong>Maxime Grousset<\/strong> of France, Bazil&#8217;s Gabriel Santos finished sixth (49.70).<\/p>\n<p>Finishing off the heat were Dutch swimmers <strong>Kyle Stolk<\/strong> and <strong>Nyls Korstanje<\/strong>. Stolk finished seventh (49.70) while Korstanje placed eighth (49.96).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50m Freestyle A Final<\/h3>\n<p>It was <strong>Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> of the Netherlands who won the women&#8217;s 50m freestyle today. She got to the wall first with a time of 24.90.<\/p>\n<p>French favorites <strong>Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> and <strong>Anna Santamans<\/strong> tied for second, both getting to the wall with a time of 25.32. <strong>Emily Barclay<\/strong> of Great Britain finished fourth (25.54).<\/p>\n<p>Hundredths of a second separated <strong>Anouchka Martin<\/strong> of France and <strong>Giulia Spaziani<\/strong> of Italy. Martin finished fifth (25.72) while Spaziani finished sixth (25.78).<\/p>\n<p>Taking seventh place in the event with a time of 25.87 was <strong>Melanie Henique<\/strong> of France. Placing eighth (25.92) was <strong>Cassandra Petit<\/strong> of France.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m Butterfly A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Leonardo De Deus<\/strong> got things done today in the A final of the men&#8217;s 200m fly at the 2019 French Open Swimming. He finished a ways ahead of the field with a time of 1:56.65. Closest to him and finishing second with a time of 2:00.70 was <strong>Brendan Hyland<\/strong> of Ireland. <strong>Matthias Marsau<\/strong> of France finished third (2:01.52).<\/p>\n<p>Taking fourth in the event with a time of 2:01.97 was <strong>Paul Espernberger<\/strong> of Austria. <strong>Clement Henry<\/strong> of France finished fifth (2:02.86).<\/p>\n<p>Sixth place went to <strong>Sebastian Steffan<\/strong> of Austria, swimming a 2:03.31, while <strong>Hugo Grandjean<\/strong> of France finished seventh (2:03.87). <strong>Jacob Peters<\/strong> of Great Britain finished eighth (2:06.89).<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 200m IM A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Claiming another victory during this meet was <strong>Hannah Miley<\/strong> of Great Britain. She cruised to first with a time of 2:14.58 in the women\u2019s 200m IM.<\/p>\n<p>A close second and third went to <strong>Cyrielle Duhamel<\/strong> of France and <strong>Lena Kreudl<\/strong> of Austria. Duhamel finished second (2:16.36) and Kreudl took third (2:16.43). Next to them was <strong>Camille Dauba<\/strong> of France finishing fourth (2:17.34)<\/p>\n<p>In fifth place with a time of 2:22.01 was <strong>Lucie Delmas<\/strong> of Frace. <strong>Claire Bourse<\/strong> of France placed sixth (2:23.26).<\/p>\n<p>The French rounded out the field with <strong>Anna Fave<\/strong> finishing seventh (2:24.26) and <strong>Lucile Mouret<\/strong> taking eighth (2:25.62).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100m Backstroke A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Hitting the sub-55 mark and winning the A final of the men&#8217;s 100 backstroke was <strong>Yohann Ndoye Brouard <\/strong>of France. He touched at 54.99. Finishing second with a time of 55.64 was <strong>Bernhard Reitshammer<\/strong> of Austria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maxence Orange<\/strong> of France and Shane Ryan of Ireland\u00a0finished close behind.\u00a0The two tied for third (55.69).<\/p>\n<p>Finishing fifth with a time of 55.81 was\u00a0<strong>Paul-Gabriel Bedel<\/strong> of France. Only a hundredth behind him was\u00a0<strong>Stanislas Huille <\/strong>of France, finishing sixth (55.82).<\/p>\n<p>Placing seventh with a time of 56.24 was\u00a0<strong>Conor Ferguson<\/strong> of Ireland. In eighth (57.29) was <strong>Ladislas Salczer<\/strong> of France.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50m Backstroke A Final<\/h3>\n<p>The trend today seemed to be tying for first with\u00a0<strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong> of the Netherlands and Australia&#8217;s <strong>Holly Barratt <\/strong>touched at the same time in the A final of the women&#8217;s 50m back. Both finished with a time of 28.13.<\/p>\n<p>Getting to the wall next was <strong>Laura Riedemann<\/strong> of Germany finishing third with a time of 28.40. In fourth (28.51)\u00a0was <strong>Maaike Waard<\/strong> of the Netherlands.\u00a0<strong>Mathilde Cini <\/strong>of France finished fifth (28.69) with <strong>Lila Touili <\/strong>finishing a close sixth (28.73).<\/p>\n<p>In seventh with a time of 29.04 was <strong>Mie Oestergaard Nielsen\u00a0<\/strong>of Denmark. <strong>Anastasia Urbaniak<\/strong> finished eighth (29.97).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m Breaststroke A Final<\/h3>\n<p>It was <strong>Marco Koch<\/strong> of Germany who took the A final of the\u00a0men&#8217;s 200m breaststroke. He finished with a time of 2:08.62. Finishing behind him with a 2:09.10 was <strong>Arno Kamminga <\/strong>of the Netherlands. <strong>Darragh Greene <\/strong>of Ireland finished third (2:12.61).<\/p>\n<p>Next to the wall, finishing fourth (2:14.94)\u00a0was <strong>Jeremy Desplanches<\/strong> of Switzerland. <strong>Jean Dencausse <\/strong>of France placed fifth (2:15.09) with <strong>Thomas Boursac Cevera<\/strong> Lortet finishing sixth (2:15.58).<\/p>\n<p>Just out of the 2:15 range was <strong>Johannes Dietrich<\/strong> of Austria finishing seventh (2:16.08). <strong>Giovanni Sorriso<\/strong> took eighth (2:16.73).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m Backstroke A Final<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Louise Lefebvre <\/strong>of France won the A final of the women&#8217;s 200m back during today&#8217;s session. She finished first with a time of 2:17.33. Not far behind was <strong>Lilou Ressencourt <\/strong>of France finishing second with a time of 2:18.29.<\/p>\n<p>Touching the wall third at a 2:20.91\u00a0was <strong>Charlotte Prince-Rayner<\/strong> of Great Britain. Fourth (2:23.34) went to <strong>Lou-Anne Guiton<\/strong> of France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rounding off the heat in fifth (2:23.66) and sixth (2:27.32) were Alexane Comier <\/strong>and <strong>Noah Bondouy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400m Free A Final<\/h3>\n<p>Finishing off the meet was a <strong>Davide Casarin<\/strong> win in the A final of the men&#8217;s 400m free. Only a hundredth of a second separated the Italian swimmer and Tunisia&#8217;s <strong>Mehdi Lagili<\/strong>. Casarin finished first (3:53.38) while Lagili finished second (3:53.29).<\/p>\n<p>Coming in third with a time of 3:56.42 was Tunisian swimmer <strong>Ahmed-Ayoub Hafnaoui<\/strong>. <strong>Paul Beaugrand<\/strong> of France finished fourth with a time of 3:56.64 with <strong>Fabio Lombini<\/strong> of Italy close behind him finishing fifth (3:56.78).<\/p>\n<p>In sixth place with a time of 3:58.67 was <strong>David Aubry<\/strong> of France. <strong>Fares Zitouni<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Damien Joly<\/strong> of France finished seventh (4:01.82) and eighth (4:03.92).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Olivia Wile, Swimming World College Intern.
