The British Swimmers showed out with\u00a0<strong>Adam Peaty <\/strong>(50 breast),\u00a0<strong>Ben Proud <\/strong>(50 free),\u00a0<strong>Anna Hopkin <\/strong>(100 free),\u00a0<strong>Georgia Davies<\/strong> (50 back) and <strong>Tom Dean<\/strong> (200 free) winning five events. Hungary won three events on the day with <strong>Katinka Hosszu <\/strong>(200 IM),\u00a0<strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> (100 fly) and <strong>Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> (200 fly) winning their respective events.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/competicions.natacio.cat\/2019\/TICB2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jan Micka\u00a0<\/strong>of the Czech Republic led a controlled race in the 1500 as he led from the outset.\u00a0 Micka swam a 15:03.01 to win the 1500 on Sunday at the Mare Nostrum Barcelona. He held off a hard charging\u00a0<strong>Daniel Jervis\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain, who was in fifth place throughout the entire race and surged to get second. Jervis touched in the runner-up spot with a 15:04.06, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Gergely Gyurta\u00a0<\/strong>(15:04.39). It was a new Barcelona meet record for Peaty, who broke his own record of 26.68 from 2016. Peaty won by a half second over\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil (27.02) and\u00a0<strong>Fabio Scozzoli\u00a0<\/strong>(27.14) of Italy. Peaty sits third in the world for 2019 with his 26.49 from April. Hopkin got her hand on the wall first in a race that was tight between the top five. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kayla Sanchez\u00a0<\/strong>(54.28) finished in second while Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michelle Coleman\u00a0<\/strong>(54.52) was third.<\/p>\n<p>Hopkin has been faster this year with a 54.02 from April, while Sanchez lowered her season best. Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Guilherme Guido\u00a0<\/strong>(54.20) was second. Efimova has been quicker this year at 1:05.51 from the FINA Champions Series in Indianapolis but is showing she is staying consistent with her swims. Efimova was well in front of second place\u00a0<strong>Martina Carraro\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.28), who was just off her 1:07.04 from April. Proud lowered\u00a0<strong>Andriy Govorov&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>meet record of 21.61 from 2016. He was off\u00a0<strong>Bruno Fratus&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>overall Mare Nostrum record of 21.31 from Monaco earlier this year. Proud was also off his season best of 21.48 from the FINA Champions Series in Guangzhou. Bacon sits 14th in the world rankings Ruck has been faster this year with a 2:06.70 from the Canadian Swimming Trials in April. <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>, the Olympic silver medalist, was third at 2:10.81. Koch swam a 2:08.79, which was almost a season best after he swam a 2:08.72 in April. He currently sits in a tie for 12th in the world rankings for 2019. Koch won in Barcelona ahead of Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Wilby\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.36),\u00a0 who was a 2:07 earlier in the year. Wilby has been having a really good year of swimming as he could potentially be the second best breaststroker in the world behind\u00a0<strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong>. Kapas won ahead of\u00a0<strong>Alys Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain (2:09.14), who had the fastest time in the world in 2018. Thomas currently sits ninth in the world rankings for 2019 behind Kapas. Portugal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ana Monteiro\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.19) was third.<\/p>\n<p>Reigning World and Olympic Champion\u00a0<strong>Mireia Belmonte\u00a0<\/strong>of Spain (2:13.46) finished eighth. The Hungarian World Junior Champion was a 51.67 at the FINA Champions Series earlier this year in May and sits 11th in the world rankings for 2019. Hosszu was in a good race with USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong> but pulled away in the freestyle leg. Hosszu has the top time in the world this year with a 2:08.50 that she swam a couple weeks ago in Indianapolis at the FINA Champions Series. Walsh was second at 2:11.86, which is a new best time, lowering her 2:12.06 from the Junior Pan Pacs last summer. Walsh now sits seventh all-time in the 17-18 NAG rankings.
