THE 2001-2002 NCAA Academic All-American Swimming Teams were released and some 178 teams in all three NCAA divisions met the minimum requirement of a team grade point average of 2.80 or above.  Interestingly, women&#39;s teams outperformed men&#39;s by almost a 2:1 margin, 116-62.<\/p>\n<p>More swim teams achieved Academic All-America honors than teams in any other sport.<\/p>\n<p>Two teams &#8212; the Div. I St. Francis University women (3.564) and the Div. III College of St. Catherine (3.561) &#8212; topped 3.50.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the women&#39;s teams on the list scored better than the men&#39;s teams. Fourteen teams  &#8212; 13 women&#39;s, one men&#39;s &#8212; had team gpa&#39;s of 3.40 or better.
