Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>won the 400 IM with the world’s fastest time on Saturday at the Mare Nostrum Barcelona stop. Hosszu swam a 4:32.52 to dominate the rest of the field. She won by nearly nine seconds over\u00a0Anja Crevar\u00a0<\/strong>(4:41.03) of Slovenia and\u00a0Hannah Miley\u00a0<\/strong>(4:41.10) of Great Britain. Hosszu had a season best with this swim as she was a 4:33.06 in April in Stockholm. She was second in the world but is now leading the world rankings ahead of Japan’s Yui Ohashi <\/strong>(4:33.06), who had the fastest time of 2018 as well.<\/p>\n

Hosszu did not swim the 400 IM at European Championships in 2018. She said that since September<\/a>,\u00a0 she has been able to be consistent again with her training after some bumps in her personal life<\/a>. She was off her meet record of 4:30.75 from 2016.<\/p>\n

Hosszu was the World Champion in the 400 IM 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2017. She was the second swimmer to win the same event at the World Championships four times after\u00a0Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 fly the same amount of times.<\/p>\n
