NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Cary, N.C. native and current high school junior\u00a0Maria Baric\u00a0<\/strong>has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Notre Dame beginning in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

Baric, who owns a pair of U.S. Open cuts with three additional Winter Juniors standards, does her club swimming TAC Titans and recently recorded five top-6 finishes at Greensboro Speedo Sectionals. \u00a0She placed ninth in the 100 breast and 15th in the 50 free at Juniors East in December and notched two best times at Junior Nationals last summer.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Green Hope High School, Baric has earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors and is a six-time North Carolina 4A State Championship finalist.\u00a0She won the 50 free and earned bronze in the 100 breast as a junior after taking second and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
