Swim fans only see who athletes are when they\u2019re underwater or during a winded, post-win press conference. What do these athletes look like without the caps and goggles on? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a few occasions, our favorite elite swimmers have been featured on some of America\u2019s top television programs and turned into fish out of water. Here are six of the most recent notable swim stars as TV stars:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>1. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michael-phelps-to-host-season-premiere-of-saturday-night-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Phelps Hosts <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday Night Live<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rs1f4gkwVu0?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the iconic eight gold medals in 2008, <strong>Michael Phelps<\/strong> took a break from the pool for a media tour, which included hosting the season 34 premiere of Saturday Night Live. Hosts of the show are typically pop culture icons, which Phelps quickly became after breaking countless records in Beijing. His opening monologue poked fun at the amount of companies interested in sponsoring him and how his mother, <strong>Debbie Phelps,<\/strong> is truly his biggest fan in the stands. Hosting the season opener of one of the most celebrated shows in American history is a huge honor. Swim fans across the globe geeked out when seeing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> premiere swimming icon on late night television. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>2. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/elizabeth-beisel-to-appear-on-survivor-according-to-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elizabeth Beisel Becomes <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Survivor <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contestant<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aJBMqda82ZY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This one hasn\u2019t occurred yet, since <strong>Elizabeth Beisel<\/strong> will be on the show\u2019s 39th season airing in the fall. Howeer, swim fans and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Survivor-<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lovers will for sure be tuning in for this one. Beisel, a three-time Olympian and silver medalist in the 400 IM, is no stranger to a tough competition. In addition to being a fierce competitor, she is also a great teammate and served as co-captain for the 2016 Olympic team. So, she will be a superstar when it comes to making alliances with other competitors. If she can survive years of 400 IM training, there is no doubt she can last on a deserted island for 39 days. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>3. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/natalie-coughlin-joins-dancing-with-the-stars-cast-for-2009-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natalie Coughlin Trades Swim Cap for Swing Dancing<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_pxbmDSVLJk?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to being among the greatest female swimmers of all time, <strong>Natalie Coughlin<\/strong> showed that she is more than a one-dimensional figure. She also has the dance moves as a contestant on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dancing with the Stars\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ninth<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> season. Unfortunately, Coughlin did not bring home the gold on the dance floor and was eliminated in the fifth episode. Coughlin is no stranger to the camera outside of the pool deck. As a cooking enthusiast, she has also appeared as a judge on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iron Chef America<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/natalie-coughlin-takes-silver-behind-danica-patrick-on-chopped-episode-on-food-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">contestant on <\/a><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chopped<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where she lost in the final round. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4.<\/strong> Ryan Lochte Loves the Camera<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rqEdQDbJx1s?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As all swim fans know, <strong>Ryan Lochte<\/strong> is no stranger to media attention and is one of the sport\u2019s biggest personalities. Lochte\u2019s list of entertainment appearances is longer than some actors who win Golden Globes. He appeared as himself in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-lighting-up-prime-time-tv-with-cameo-on-nbcs-30-rock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">30 Rock <\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">episode \u201cA Stride of Pride,\u201d which originally aired on October 18, 2012. In that same year, Lochte also made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-to-make-cameo-appearance-on-90210-in-october\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">guest appearance on<\/a> <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">90210<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Most swimmers will remember when Lochte <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/he-saidshe-said-thoughts-on-ryan-lochte-reality-show-debut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">landed his own reality TV show called<\/a> <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Would Ryan Lochte Do? <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">w<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hich aired in 2013 on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">E! <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/what-would-ryan-lochte-do-will-not-get-a-second-season-on-e-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the show was cancelled after just one season<\/a>. Episodes of the show can still be found online for those who want to reminisce. Shortly after the \u201cLochtegate\u201d scandal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-to-be-contestant-on-23rd-season-of-dancing-with-the-stars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">he appeared on season 23<\/a> of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dancing with the Stars<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and finished seventh place overall. Most recently, Lochte was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-to-compete-on-celebrity-big-brother\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a contestant on<\/a> <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Celebrity Big Brother\u2019s <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">second season. He spent ten days in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Big Brother <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">house and finished in thirteenth place. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>5. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pretty-little-liars-puts-missy-franklin-back-on-the-television\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Missy Franklin Guest Stars on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pretty Little Liars<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zXgQ_mJJOwA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After becoming the darling of the 2012 London Olympics and winning four gold medals, <strong>Missy Franklin<\/strong> was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pretty-little-liars-puts-missy-franklin-back-on-the-television\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">back on the television in <\/a><em>Pretty Little Liars\u00a0<\/em>as herself. In the episode, Franklin meets one of the characters, also a competitive swimmer, at a coffee shop to discuss swimming. Seems very fitting and the ideal role for her when she was just a senior in high school. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>6. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/olympian-haley-anderson-to-appear-on-hells-kitchen-w201004\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Haley Anderson goes to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hell\u2019s Kitchen<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"VIP Diners |  Season 15 Ep. 12 | HELL&#039;S KITCHEN\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bk5eytUSc28?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To most pool swimmers, open water swimming sounds like hell. But for Olympic silver medalist and open water swimmer <strong>Haley Anedrson<\/strong>, nothing seems to phase her. She entered <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hell\u2019s Kitchen <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">alongside chef <strong>Gordon Ramsay<\/strong> on an episode that aired April 1, 2016. Anderson is an avid at-home cook and enjoys watching cooking shows in her free time. In an interview after the episode aired, she admits that watching Ramsay yell at people made her giggle, and it was hard to hold that in while the cameras rolled. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have you seen any of these episodes?
