CONNOR Green and Brooke Zeiger earned the title of Ironman and Ironwoman in the second day of competition at the CeraVe Invitational, with each swimming 1900 meters in prelims and finals.<\/p>\n<p>Both also won the 400 individual medley and 100 backstroke events tonight. Zeiger posted a 4:50.77 in the 400 IM and 1:04.73 in the 100 back to take both victories. She would return to place third in the 400 free with a 4:20.81 and swim backstroke on Bluefish Swim Club&#8217;s 400 medley relay which placed second behind North Baltimore Aquatic Club&#8217;s 4:19.22 with a 4:25.61.<\/p>\n<p>Green started off his evening with a 4:24.25 in the 400 IM then put up a 57.43 in the 100 backstroke for win number two on the night. Feeling fatigued, he placed eighth in the 400 free (time) and also swam backstroke on the 400 medley relay that was runner up to North Baltimore (3:58.84) with a 4:00.72.<\/p>\n<p>Gillian Ryan of North Baltimore won her third event of the meet, taking the 400 free with a 4:09.80 to teammate Cierra Runge&#8217;s 4:10.09. Ryan was also third in the 400 IM with a 4:58.12, while Runge finished second in the 50 free with a 26.40 to teammate Mary Pelton&#8217;s 26.37. Runge has yet to win an individual event at the meet, but has the 100 freestyle, one her top events, on tomorrow&#8217;s program.<\/p>\n<p>Evan Sherkness gave North Baltimore another win tonight, posting a 24.35 in the men&#8217;s 50 free over Badger&#8217;s David Stewart (24.91) and Jersey Flyers&#8217; Justin Dunn (24.97).<\/p>\n<p>Fullerton&#8217;s Jerad Kaskawal, the 800 freestyle winner, completed a distance freestyle double with a 4:01.06 in the 400 free. John Nunez of Asphalt Green, runner-up to Kaskawal in the 800, was second again with a 4:04.74 after holding an early lead.
