NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Texas has scored a new verbal for the fall of 2020 from versatile\u00a0Zac Van Zandt\u00a0<\/strong>of Winnetka, Calif.<\/p>\n

Van Zandt, who owns a pair of U.S. Open cuts with five additional Summer Juniors standards, swims year-round with CCAT Swimming. He attended USA Swimming\u2019s 2018 National Select Camp and finished 13th in the 100 free at Juniors West in December. This past summer, he earned gold in the 200m free and bronze in the 100m free at Santa Clara Futures.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Crespi Carmelite High School, Van Zandt is a four-time California CIF State Championship finalist.\u00a0He placed third in the 100 free and sixth in the 200 free as a junior after finishing third and fourth, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season. He has also earned both NISCA and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts.<\/p>\n
