NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Ohio has received a new verbal pledge for the fall of 2020 from in-state standout\u00a0Gabrielle Brust\u00a0<\/strong>of Granville, Ohio.<\/p>\n

Brust, who\u00a0owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 back and 100 fly, does her club swimming with Pau Hana Swim Team and most recently competed at ISCA TYR Juniors where she finished fourth in both the 50m fly and 100m fly. This past summer, she recorded a pair of best times at Spire Speedo Sectionals en route to earning silver in the 50m fly and bronze in the 100m fly.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Watkins Memorial high School, Brust is a five-time Ohio State Championship finalist.\u00a0She finished 10th in the 100 fly and 11th in the 100 back as a junior after racing to fifth and 10th, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am so blessed to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Ohio University to further my academic and athletic career. I would like to thank my coaches, family, teammates, and friends for their continuous support. I would also like to thank coach Mason for allowing me to be apart of such and amazing program.
