Two-time Olympian\u00a0<strong>Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>originally was set to swim the 4&#215;200 free relay but is no longer listed on the US roster for the meet. Conger was next in line to take Dwyer&#8217;s relay spot after his 1:46.85 at the Pan Pacs last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Dwyer was also next in line to swim the 400 free if Stanford&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/after-shoulder-surgery-grant-shoults-determined-to-fight-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grant Shoults<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was unable to recover from his injury in time.\u00a0<em>Swimming World\u00a0<\/em>has reached out to see who would be next in line if Shoults cannot swim. The fastest time from Pan Pacs or Nationals last summer belonged to Georgia sophomore <strong>Andrew Abruzzo<\/strong>, who is not listed on the rosters for the Pan American Games or the World University Games.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympic-gold-medalist-nathan-adrian-announces-he-has-testicular-cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Nathan Adrian<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stanford-freshman-jack-levant-pulls-out-of-ncaas-due-to-medical-complications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Jack LeVant<\/strong><\/a>, who have both sustained either injuries or illnesses this year, are both still listed on the roster.<\/p>\n<p>Conger will be swimming in his second World Championships team after he was fifth in Budapest in the 200 fly at the 2017 Worlds. He also swam the third leg on the bronze medal winning 4&#215;200 free relay team for the United States at those World Championships in Hungary. Dwyer was originally set to swim in his fourth Worlds. Conger also swam on the 4&#215;200 free relay team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio where he had the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/british-americans-russians-post-top-3-times-in-mens-800-freestyle-relay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fastest split on the prelims relay<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Swimming World\u00a0<\/em>has reached out to USA Swimming to find out why Dwyer is no longer on the US roster for the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Conger swam four years at the University of Texas where he won three NCAA team titles for the Longhorns. He also recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jack-conger-signs-with-tyr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed a suit deal with TYR<\/a> in October 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Conger is also training in Charlottesville, Virginia with\u00a0<strong>Todd DeSorbo<\/strong> after moving from Austin, Texas. His best time in the 100 fly is a 51.00 from the Atlanta Pro Swim Series in March 2018. He has only managed a 53.08 this year with his swim from the Pro Swim Series in Richmond in April.
