NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Chesterfield, Va. native and current high school junior\u00a0Eli Tarabocchia\u00a0<\/strong>has verbally committed to the University of South Carolina beginning in the fall of 2020.<\/p>\n

Tarabocchia, who owns the U.S. Open standard in the 200 back, swims year-round with Quest Swimming and most recently competed at Richmond TYR Pro Swim Series where he finished 14th in the 200m back. He won both backstroke events at TYR ISCA Juniors in March after placing 12th in the 200 back at Juniors East in December.<\/p>\n

This past summer, he won the 200m back at Virginia Seniors before going on to win that event as well as earn the runner-up spot in the 100m back at Richmond Futures.\u00a0Also competing for Cosby High School, Tarabocchia\u00a0finished eighth in the 100 back and 15th in the 200 IM as a junior at the Virginia 6A State Championships.<\/p>\n
