\nThis week\u2019s ZUMO Performance of the Week goes to <\/span>Annie Lazor <\/b>for dropping the fastest time in the world and smashing her personal best in the <\/span>200 breast<\/span><\/a> at the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Bloomington this weekend. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lazor has been having an outstanding year, particularly in the 200 breast, where she has recorded three personal bests since the start of the year. Before 2019, Lazor\u2019s best in the 200 breast was a 2:24.42 from the 2018 U.S. National Championships. Coming into Bloomington, Lazor had already dropped that time twice, taking her best time down to a 2:22.99 from the Des Moines stop of the TYR Pro Swim Series. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lazor absolutely smashed that time again here, taking more than 2 seconds off her personal best to hit the wall in 2:20.77. Out very quick in 1:08.87, Lazor backed that up with closing splits of 36.03 and 35.87 to get to the wall first by almost 4 seconds and put up the fastest time in the world this year. <\/span><\/p>\n

Looking at her splits compared to her previous personal best from Des Moines, the real difference came on the second and the fourth 50\u2019s, both of which were around one second faster than her splits from earlier in the year. <\/span><\/p>\n
