NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Kentucky has earned a new verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from high school junior Abbie Shaw<\/strong> of\u00a0Niwot, Colorado.<\/p>\n

Primarily a backstroker, Shaw does her club swimming with Elevation Athletics and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100 back. She most recently competed at Phoenix Sectionals where her highest finish was a 15th-place showing in the 100 back after racing both backstroke events at Juniors West in December. This past summer, she recorded three best times at Colorado LCM Seniors and had five finals appearances.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Niwot High School, Shaw is a six-time Colorado 4A State Championship finalist. She was the 200 free runner-up and placed third in the 100 back as a junior after finishing sixth and second, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.<\/p>\n
